I hope this game is great but some of the vids out there just aren't getting me excited so I'm going to pass on buying day 1.

I'll keep following the thread for everyone's impressions so I can crack in a couple days.

Honestly, I think those video really weren't very well made, even the trade one which was the only really exciting one. I think it's just a matter of not being sure exactly how to show the game off.

I think what the question really boils down to is "will I enjoy exploring a bunch of planets and collecting resources" because that is what the game is at it's core.

I think a lot of people still think this is an MMO, or a space combat game, and because of that I think a lot of people are gonna be disappointed. The hype is so ridiculously high for this game it would be hard to blame them. Not everyone does their research. They just go off hype.

I just hope this doesn't cause the game to get poor reviews from reviewers who have no clue what the game is about.

I bet we see a bunch of average scores from reviewers with the primary complaints being: no true online multi-player and not enough space fights.

And those of us that already know will shake our heads.

It's going to be such a divisive game.

Is this game going to be a regular $60 title on PS4?

I wasn't sure being that it's an indie type game it seems.

It amazes me that people go off hype rather than looking into what they are buying. I don't know maybe that's just me.

This one of those games that is so hard to objectively put a score on. So many times reviewers like to put games in a neat little box and label it, and most of the time that works out well.

This game however is going to be evolving constantly, as people around the world find out secrets to the alien languages and such.

For me it is a dream game, I love discovery, resource gathering, crafting, and trading. Learning alien languages is just the cherry on top.

Others, may find that boring, that's fine with me. I will still enjoy it for what it is.

I like multiplayer as much as the next person, but with this game I am happy that isn't forced down our throats. There are so many other games out there where you can shoot and tea bag people.

So, it will be a nice change of pace. Less than 2 weeks now.

In some ways this is an RPG where "you don't play it for combat" sentences are used a lot. Which means for me I probably won't like it (and I don't do FPS games in the first place lol). But my daughter can't wait for it. With all the previews I think most people know what to expect for the basic gameplay.
