Has there been a video on the space combat aspect of this game? Is it robust or kinda just there?

Will be covered in the FIGHT trailer I presume.

Here's someone recapping some of the space flight stuff, I'd definitely lean towards 'just kinda there' but that's kinda the overall theme of the game.

Already thinking about how I am going to approach this game. I am thinking Space Smuggler. A guy who has a fast ship with good defense, scouring planets for resources to trade. Learning some alien languages to create trading alliances, trust no one. Be smart about hostile encounters, never picking fights with situations too large to handle. Get crafty with upgrading my ship and weapons.

Basically Han Solo with no companion (Chewie).

          That's the ticket for me.

This will likely be the game I buy a PS4 for. But i'm going to wait until after the user reviews roll out. The game sounds like something I could get lost in and fall in love with, but I want to see how it's implemented. The premise is amazing, but there has to be something worthwhile to explore in all these star systems. At the end of the day if it's not much fun visiting all these planets there's not much point.

I have the limited edition pre-ordered through Amazon with release day delivery, but I seriously don't know if I can wait till later in the day when it comes in the mail considering I could play it at midnight. Pretty sad lol

The delay was either the best thing for this game and myself or the worst thing for it. I was going to buy it day 1 prior to the delay. Since then I've thought about it and have decided to pass unless impressions are just that amazing and the game is a lot deeper than we were ever led to believe. I just don't see the depth to keep me playing honestly.

I'm going PC on this because I want to run the game as "maximum" as possible but it sucks knowing that I'll probably have to wait until 9am PST like I usually always do with Steam releases

I feel like the concerns you've expressed in this thread have all been fair and logical. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if the game ends up being what you worried it would be, for you. Hope I am wrong, of course. I hope there is something there for everyone, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the first of the latest trailer series is solely advertising "exploration."

You might be surprised. The last few releases have been midnight releases for me. We'll see.

According to a few articles, PC version will get official modding tools

I do hope it is good enough that I end up purchasing it. If I find it for a good price then I may still try it out for the sake of it because parts of it look so cool, but I'm holding off as of now at full price.
