I wonder how often two planets will feel "the same" with the only unique difference being one has tall grass and one has short grass, for instance.

It's just strange though that planets seem pretty similar everywhere. I mean look at Earth with snowy mountains and dry deserts, then green forests and watery oceans, and civilization blah blah blah. Heck, look your street and then the streets on the other side of the freeway. I just wonder how in-depth these planets get is all, meaning if exploring one side of the planet is very different from exploring the other side.

But that's the beauty Blzer. We don't know. We're asked to go out and discover. Some of us will never know whats in this quadrant or that quadrant....etc.

      Re: No Man's Sky

There have been a LOT of very similar planets. This is something I think will change in the patch, in fact they said they were changing the color palettes (I think they said brightening? Or maybe expanding?). If it had just been one guy I would say "man, he had some bad luck" but I've seen quite a lot of planets in videos and screens, excluding the press releases/trailers from Hello Games, the planets have been really more similar than I would have thought.

But, like I said, I think that's something that the first patch is going to address.

Yeah as far as the first patch it sounds like they "added colors" and "added sounds" on top of whatever balancing and bug fixes they did with it.

One thing I have been saying in the groupme chat for awhile, and Bolt can back me up on this, is I was worried that 18quin was a little misleading, and that all that really means is that Bolt and I could be standing on a planet, in our respective games, that are virtually identical except he has a lake where I have mountain, or something like that.

Bottom line is, I don't know what the answer is there, but I sure as heck can't wait to find out.

Sorry if this was talked about in here already, my memory isn't what it used to be.

Is anyone in here playing Starbound? It sounds like a fun little 2D game that has some No Man Sky-ish elements to it. Might be a fun way to pass the time until Tuesday

Another question, do you guys know what you want to name your first planet yet? I think I will go with something lame and easy like JareVille or something like that

Ahh, gotcha. Hmmm....15 bucks, I will have to think on it. Might just go and play some Witcher 3 all weekend instead.
