I ended up going with the Institute and was able to convince the Minutemen to stand down during the mission where you convince the doctor to join the Institute. So the future of The Commonwealth in this playthrough in my head is I lead the Institute mostly peacefully going forward. We build up the existing Minutemen network I've built. We will never shoot first, but if any set of gunners, raiders, mutants, etc. get fresh, they will die.

I mainly went with the Institute because I wanted to see how the story with Shaun ended without shooting my sonfather in the face. The worst part about it was definitely just walking right into the Railroad and massacring all the people I met there. Wrecking the BoS was fun except for the part where Danse showed up in the epic battle and I had to put him down. I had gone through pretty much all of his dialogue after doing any BoS mission I had with him. The story he shared about his old partner made shooting him in the battle feel wrong.

I guess the main point of this game is that whatever decision you make outside going it alone with the Minutemen, you will be aligning with a faction that has something wrong with it. And you'll also kill someone you've made friends with (unless you really choose to go it alone throughout the game). In order of A-holeness, I'd go BoS/Institute (close, but BoS wins out), Railroad (naive to what their actions are doing/flawed view that programmed synths have human emotions). Minutemen are completely clueless without me, so I don't even really count them as a faction with goals other than surviving.

I'm at Level 52 and no enemies are a challenge any more. I'm not sure I want to continue with this save at all now. At some point, I will start a new game with a different focus - this time I did pistols followed by rifles. I've read that the ending isn't all that different if you choose a different path, but I do want to see what it's like taking down the Institute as the Railroad or BoS. Seems like going in there and fighting a bunch of robots would be a fun battle.

Anyway, great game that gets a bit stale, but you still can't put it down. In other words, a Bethesda game. Personally, would not even put it in the conversation of GOTY with Witcher 3.

Hey guys question here, I'll try to be vague enough to not spoil anything?

Paladin Danse said I get a suit once in the BOS. Is that supposed to happen after arc jet initial mission? I've done a couple of their quests and can't find anything at the police station remotely resembling armor haha.

You have to get to a certain point in the main story to advance BoS story quests. Trust me, you'll know when you hit that point.

Look at your map. It shows you the location of the last armor you were in. Just look for a mask.

So THAT'S what that thing is! Man, that was bothering me my entire playthrough. I always thought it was some kind of disease hitting Sanctuary or the Paladin since that's the only two places I ever left suits I used.

Been having a lot of fun with this game. Messed around building sanctuary up, cleared some buildings, got up to level 13 or so. Think I'm going to restart now, however, now that I have a better feel for what I'm doing. Definetly have some wasted perks, and wasted a lot of materials building with poor planning.

What kind of builds/perks do you guys go for? I've found that I almost never melee anything unless it's a emergency, so I'm probably going to drop the strength more than I did before. May play on a slightly higher difficulty this time too to get more of that good loot.

Been getting into this and it's fun but I doubt I'll finish the game, as I generally have no real idea what I'm doing. But it is fun.

I've gotten some mission that require me to go to Monsignor Plaza. I remember there was a pretty bad bug that happened when you went there. I was just wondering if they fixed it before I continue on with the missions.

Most often the solution is to save often. I encountered the Preston Garvey glitch but a simple reload before the mission fixed it. I usually never have fewer than 7 saves.
