That's how I feel about every Bethesda game, from Morrowind onward. They're fun, and you can do whatever you want, but they fail to hold my interest. Part of that is that, for me, they tend to lose a level of immersion when it comes to the point where you're doing a lot of side quests. My son is abducted and missing, but rather than chase him down, going into areas much harder for my level, I'm building houses and doing side quests. While that stuff is a huge part of what makes the game great, they also take away from the story aspect of it.

Tldr; while I like some sandbox games, personally I love much more linear games where the variation is more how to do things rather than what to do.

I think one of the problems, and actually it's really not a problem, but at some point in a game like FO, Skyrim, etc, we play it so much that at some point we need a more linear SP experience. At times I need to take a break for a week and play something like AC (yes, it's still open world, but definitely more linear).

It's easy to get burned out on the vastness of what FO is, and take a step back to regain some stamina for what it is. I get overwhelmed.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. I love Fallout 4, I plunged close to 40 hours in pretty quickly but am now taking a break and playing Madden, 2K, and Star Wars. In a week or so I will pick it back up and it will come back to being in my heavy rotation of gaming.

It certainly isn't a problem to me. And I don't mean it's a problem in the sense it degrades the games worth. It's an amazing game. I love it.

I just see this often from myself, and others. Sometimes you need to take a break from the overwhelming world of FO and play something that holds your hand a bit more.

Just got it yesterday. Really enjoying it. No idea what I am doing most of the time but am slowly figuring it out....I think.

One thing is the reloads wear me out. In my 11 hours I have had this type of save reload after a death. Dead before the screen shows up.

Also to add this guy danny Murphy wouldn't die. Had to go online and found a work around. He would have no power and lay on the ground. Then pop back up guns blazing. The work around fixed the issue

Danny Sullivan can't die because he is essential, he's exposed to the wasteland and necessary for a quest.

This request may go above and beyond...I am interested in getting into the series. Does anyone have a spare code for Fallout 3 I believe it came with Fallout 4. I have both consoles.

What's everyone using for weapons?
My mains right now are 2 10mm's both legendary. One with 25% damage to everything, the other 50% damage to super mutants. The 25% one has a powerful receiver, long light ported barrel, sharpshooter's grip, large quick eject mag, reflex sight (circle), and compensator. The mutant one has an advanced receiver, long light ported barrel, sharpshooter's grip, quick eject mag, with no muzzle yet.
A legendary shotgun where the target bleeds 25 points damage of additional damage. On it is powerful receiver, long barrel, short stock and standard sight.
And then Kellogg's pistol without the scope on it.
Then a pipe rifle with calibrated powerful receiver, long finned barrel, recoil compensating stock, quick eject drum, reflex sight and a large bayonet.

The last few sessions I've had, I've died running across land mines. Is there something I should be looking for to see these things coming? Each time was when I was exploring off the main road and ran across some Raider camps. Both times I had saved relatively recent, but had modded some guns and clothes after, so had to redo an try and remember what combos I had went with.

Two options, 1 press the vats button since landmines are considered an enemy, 2 level sneak until you no longer set off traps.

I'm at level 15 now and just realized that on the perk screen I can scroll down and spend the level up perk point to the items below the top row. I just kept putting stars on each of the top row.

Not ever sure what that did but I am now starting to spend the level up point to the items below. Holy moly. That was my der moment in Fallout so far, figured this in about 22 hours in.

I had to force myself not to play today. I've logged 29 hours since Wednesday night. Quite a bender....with a terrible stomach bug. I picked a good game to play when I'm sick.
