OK for anyone who records their gameplay with like a elgato or something are you having problems? I was attempting to record and record commentary but for some reason everything was corrupted. Very bad gittering and ripping no real sound or anything. Once i stopped trying the commentary it recorded a bit better but still very bad gittering and ripping. I am going to try not to record in 1080p and see if that helps but it is really frustrating. I recorded a bunch of hours so far and I just hope I can salvage some funny things that happened. Specially one where I was shooting a single fire bolt action and every time I racked a round spent shell a beer bottle would come out.

Going to take a while to get used to the dog. I play late in the evenings and it sounds like a rad roach is following me around. Makes me even more ancy/jumpy.

VATS is nice for ammo conservation, and the power armor is fun. Looking forward to eventually doing some city building.

I switched to the robot but he was even more annoying. I'm constantly turning around to see him blocking a door way. I just got to the point where I can have a Human side kick so I might try that tonight.

there just as bad. I was sneaking with syths all around and some how it got lost and I was by a corner where 4 syths were and two sentrey guns and here it comes through the middle of them right to me. needless to say I died fairly quick lol. It brought them all right to me. Not to mention it gets in the way of everything

So is there any consensus on the 3rd person view? Good? Bad?
Is there another game that you can compare it too?

I switched to it a couple times and thought it was awful. First person is much better. I actually wish I could shut off the switching. That way I could just tap the same button to launch builder node.

Do any of you just scrap everything you can before building in towns like sanctuary?

Did a couple of quests and side quests last night but spent a good portion of my playing time getting the settlement set up. I must have logged about an hour in a half messing around getting the settlement set up and looking for items to craft the necessary structures and lighting. Had to stop to get some sleep so I am somewhat functional at work.

This is my 1st Fallout and it is awesome. The only problem I have now is finding time for the Witcher 3.

didnt get my copy last night thanks to ups, probably best as i couldnt have played too much anyway.

getting into it tonight after veterans day dinner but wont get to log more than a couple hours

How far are you? I think I'm further and I haven't come across having to setup lightning. Wondering if I missed something.

I do a fair bit of switching between first and third person. There are times a uses for both and I think its great to toggle as needed.

Also, of you guys haven't done so, you can customize all your controls. I changed a few on Xbox:

A - jump
Y - activate
B- crouch
RS - change view
Select (don't know it's proper name) - Pip Boy

Setting up your style should help a bit with making the controls less "clunky".

Think I spent 4 and a half hours in Sanctuary after I hit Concord building my settlement. All my resources and defense are up to snuff, now I need to find food for my people.

Question - I played yesterday for about 4 hours, and didn't even venture outside of Sanctuary as I just explored the town. As I was getting off, I saw that on the map, it show's Sanctuary, and then right next to it it says 50%.

Does anyone know what the 50% means?

Sanctuary I ransacked. I also stripped down red rocket since it basically is close to my settlement

Forgot to do that at red rocket. I need to head back that way tonight. Think I left my power suit over that way when it lost power. Will it still be over there?

I read that power suits are always where you leave it, and I also think there's a map icon for your last suit worn....You'd have to remember where other ones were left or just leave them at sanctuaries.
