    Re: Fallout 4

    2 1/2 hours in....

    Power armor was great.

Love VATS, sneaking, this all just feels Fallout.

IMO the graphics are fine....I more just love all the exploration and experience. I haven't honestly noticed anything bad graphically, I just enjoy while i play and nothing's that bad.

    Question on Structures and junk:

I transfer all my junk to my workbenches to get it out of inventory, but aren't I supposed to junk it somehow? I thought I read if you don't then when you use a piece to build something you may lose some of the other resources....

Haven't gotten much farther into this yet though.

With weapons, I only need one of the type I want, right? I could scrap the rest since we don't have weapons breaking...I have 8 pistols I can use to craft mods, right?

      Fallout 4

Just dump all your junk in a settlement and scrap it while in builder mode. Easiest way to do it that I've found. That way you get all the materials.

I very rarely get RPG or shooter games, mainly I just stick to sport games (with the exception of the Batman series). However, this game just keeps getting more and more intriguing to me after reading the reviews and posts of people on here. For someone who has never played a game in this series, is it worth all the hype? Also, will I miss anything since I have never played the other 3 games in the series?

Yes, and there's a perk that lets you get rarer parts like screws, aluminum, and copper.

I love this game so much. It looks great, and feels just like Fallout 3 again. I've always wanted to be able to experience Fallout 3 completely fresh, and this is finally letting me do that.

I'm about 8 hours in and I haven't been to Diamond City yet. I've been focusing on building relationships with other settlements and leveling up. I've also spent about two hours building my settlement up in Sanctuary and upgrading my Power Armor.

Has anyone found any more fusion cores? I figure there are some along the main story line which I haven't gotten to yet, but I've hardly used my Power Armor because I don't want to run out of juice.

I really shouldn't have came into this thread while at work.

Really excited to get home and have a few days to dig deep into this.
'm only just a little over 1 hour in and really only have scavenge the starting area.

OK, so it sounds like where you're at is based on the story? Part of me was somewhat afraid of advancing too quickly, but also missing that settlement opportunity... but also didn't want to blow a bunch of resources setting up shop somewhere random either.

Sounds like it kinda guides you to your first real settlement area?

Ahhhh so transfer it back to my inventory, then go to junk in pip boy and dump it on ground, and then scrap in workshop thing, I'll try that.

I may check out Diamond City more before spending tons of time in Sanctuary though...dunno what I feel like doing

The nice thing is that the stories from the other games are different. This isn't like jumping into Mass Effect 3 when you haven't played the other two.

The fallout universe is one that is best savored, not devoured all at once. Rushing through the plot line is not suggested. There is a ton of stuff to do and meandering away from the plot will often yield some wondrous gameplay.

This was a day one purchase for me and I don't regret it. Does it live up to the hype? Give me another 70 hours of gameplay and I will let you know. But so far, so good.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

I found the one the quest sends you to (I think anyway, I found it exploring before even going to Concord)

I found a second not part of the story...

I found one inside the Drive In office behind the door you need to lockpick.

I am out of Bobby pins and they seem to be scarce. I found some in a medicine cabinet but they are long gone now.

Lockpicks do seem to break easier in 4.

I was so good at it in dying light. Lock picks were also easily crafted in that game. Had enough to last me a lifetime. Is there a way to craft the pins? Seems really silly if there is not.
