      Re: Fallout 4

I've "only" played about 11 hours so far, up to level 8 I believe. Spent a good bit of time working on the settlement, got a nice community center setup and a defensive output right by the bridge coming into Sanctuary. Now I've been exploring the NW corner of the map to see what's around. I'm finding copper to be the material I run out of the fastest trying to setup my power grid.

First you build a generator, of course. Then you place a small connector on the outside of the building you want to power. Finally you run a wire to that small connector and it creates an "aura" of power. If you find things aren't being powered inside, chances are you don't have a connector close enough. Place the connectors every few meters and just wire them together.

Play through the minuteman quests and youll get to a location that essentially shows how the electricity in this game works.

I have built up a decent amount of resources in this game with the exception of steel, I went through too much steel in the beginning and now Im hurting for it. I hope a patch adjusts how much Settlements make in caps, i would also like to see Caps from all settlements showing up in any workstand as long as its on the supply line. As it stands right now, its not worth the effort if your just in it for the caps. I personally love making settlements, I have 2 that are decent but 1 that is shaping up to be my jewel.

Good chance you've cleaned it out already but there's a good amount of steel to scrap at

When the building (workshop) feature first opened up for me, I had the radio beacon used to attract new settlers in there as an option , but now that particular object no longer shows up. I was unable to use it at first because I still needed some components, now it's no longer in there as an option. Has anyone had this happen to them? Or is there a reason behind it, maybe a glitch? Thanks in advance for any help!

As someone that has never played Fallout.

Would it be better to try and play Fallout 1 first?

                    Or just dive into 4?

Just dive right into 4. There are plenty of recap wiki's out there to get you the general scope of the world, but all of the stories are independent. There are a couple very minor characters that cross over, but you not knowing who they are doesn't mean anything at all.

I know there are magazines you can find that unlock additional stuff to build. Idk if thats how you get the pool table or not though.

This is the first time I have played a Fallout game. I never realized how much fun I would have with a RPG game (mainly a sports gamer) but just the vast amount of things you can do is astounding.

For someone who has never played a fallout game, would it be beneficial to get the survival/game guide?

The guide has everything in it. Locations of hidden items like bobble heads, walkthroughs if you get stuck in a mission, explanations of the different power armor and different types of weapons. Them adding modding to the extent they have makes the guide really nice because there's just so much going on.

I never played FO before and have no guide and I prefer it this way. It's just a lot of fun to dive in and play with no idea what to do. Halo 5 is my favorite PVP game for next gen Xbox, but this is my personal GOTY. So much detail and insanely addicting. I got this on a whim and didn't expect to be sucked in this much..lol. Im a level 22 after playing way too much this weekend.

Just spent an hour in Malden center middle school. I can't find the door to get down another level. It's like it just doesn't exist. Even watched a video on YouTube and it's like my middle school is just totally different.

This is the place with the pink paste? I just did this. There is a hole in the floor that you go down and in that basement is an elevator that will get you to the boss. I used a ton of molatovs on him.
