Yea, it's $169.99 + tax, and you get the Green XBox, a S Controller, and Halo.

I also picked up Crimson Skies, and paid the new price, but I suspect it was used, as he said he only had one copy, and just happened to find it in time.

However, he said he had the game, but not the case, so maybe that is why the seal was already broken when I opened it. Kinda bugged me initially, but it's a great game, and runs well.. So no worries.

    Take care.

How much did you pay for Crimson Skies? I believe it's on sale for $29.99 at Circuit City this week.

      Hiya.

I paid $29.99 for it, "new." I think it may have actually be new, but he just had to use the display case, as it was the last copy he had. Again, it's not a big deal, but it's something that can be annoying, but after rethinking, I think I just got the display case, which would explain the seal being broken.

Also, they had a deal where I could get a $10 rebate on Ninja Gaiden if I bought it with the box, but I went with Crimson Skies instead.

Some might find this an odd decision, but my friend hsa Ninja Gaiden, and he may let me borrow it.. And Crimson Skies is really a blast. I'm enjoying it more than I would Ninja Gaiden, as I am just not into that type of game right now.

I also rented ESPN Baseball and am really impressed with it.

Eventually I want to get a Action Replay, Live Kit, and a sprots game, but I'm gonna have to hold off a little while as I am not dealing with unlimited funds.

Very good system though. My initial impressions are that it's very powerful and it just seems to be solidly built. I actually like the controller (and I have long fingers), that hasn't caused any cramping or discomfort.. And I am slowly starting to get the buttons down.

I played Halo and it's good, but I reached a part where I landed on a planet and had to fight swarms of aliens that a transporter kept dropping. After falling off the side of a temple-like structure and getting massacred, I decided to take a break.

It's neat to see a lot of action on screen without the framerate taking a hit.

I am strongly considering selling my PS2 and games, just because the only thing it seems to have over XBox right now is EA Sports games being online, but I honestly haven't played any EA Sports titles online for an extended period of time.

I like the fact that you pay a subscription fee for Live, because with it comes the assumption of quality service, servers, and just a better overall experience. Or at least that is how it should work.. Whether it does or not, I can't say yet, as I didn't get Live yet.

I popped in a Hits of the 80's CD earlier and saw I could copy the songs to my XBox harddrive.. That was pretty cool, and I've read some games allow you to use "downloaded" songs in games..

Now that I have an XBox, I am going to seriously take steps to not read up on a game's bugs, glitches, and shortocmings at forums and online. With PS2 I would read all the negatives about a game, and then look for those negatives when I played, even if I would never have found them otherwise.

I see the XBox as a fresh start and an opportunity to not pre-judge games before I actually play them.. Because I figure, if I don't find a bug/glitch out on my own, does it really matter if it exists? In this case, I think ignorance is bliss.

Anyway, I am rambling at an alarming rate here. I did get Crimson Skies new for $29.99 and am enjoying it very much. Halo also seems to be a very well done game, and ESPN Baseball seems to play like a realistic game of baseball, with beautiful parks and graphics. I was also pleased to see that I couldn't hit my spots perfectly and actually walked batters, causing scoring situations.

Anyway, this is the Non-Sports Gaming forum, so I should probably calm down.

I ended up writing a novel in response to a question that could have been answered in three words.

      Take care.

i know i said memory card for saves, but is that true for the whole x-box live system or can i do a system recovery? i am going to get a halo x-box 2 day and do not want to spend the xtra- 25 for a mem card if i don't have to. i don't care about game saves or music, just the live info. say if i do trade mine in if i just plug my ethernet cord in the back and insert my startup disk can i recover from there? when i trade my x-box in will someone else have access to my info, card number, address? hmmmm?

Just got the mean green machine in today, thank you jesus!I haven't played on it yet, don't expect anything different than the color of the X-Box,but I'm glad I got it.My mother sprung for the funds(gotta pay her back if she lets me)I got Halo, system with S controller, and also an extra one came with it.That makes 2.Circuit city had all that for 169.99. I later sold my oringinal X-box to a guy coming out of gamestop for 80 bucks. The guy got the steal of a lifetime cause I only had it for a couple months, but what the hell I like this one better anyway....

I'm liking the $29.99 price reduced games a lot.. Project Gotham 2 and Crimson Skies are both $29.99 and they've only been out a little over 5 months.. It makes picking up a game or two with the console itself possible, without breaking the bank.
