Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Just finished the ACE Chemicals mission, its starting to get better and feel like a Batman game. There was plenty of combat and predator stalking.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Ya know, I definitely see that the batmobile concerns are pretty justified.
It is kind of puzzling. I wonder if maybe they were just really proud of how cool they made the batmobile (by itself, it is pretty awesome) and just went way way overboard? I guess on one hand I can respect them trying to mix up the formula, on the other hand, as someone else said, maybe a little bit more of the old formula wouldn't have hurt."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
They've already made me hate the Batmobile, and I'm only at the second Riddler puzzle. I fell off the edge with it on the 2nd try and just shut the game off.
With ESO still begging to be played, and the warnings of the Batmobile reliance being worse the more you play, this game is gonna be on a short leash, and that's from someone who loved the prior games.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
The game is ok, but believe the reviews, while it looks beautiful, it's not as good as the predecessors. Feels like the worst one in the series to me thus far (granted, I'm only a short way in thanks to the 6GB / half a day download).Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Is it just me or is this one of the most tutorial-less, non-handholding, how the hell do you do things game ever created? And keep in mind, I played and felt like I was pretty good at AA.
I have no idea how to do anything. And what I do know I had to look up online. For instance, during the first Riddler race, the game makes it not very obvious that I needed to hit circle to open passages.
And stealth being R2 I figured out by accident/recalling on previous Batman controls.
And speaking of the Riddler races and challenges, I have no idea how to find them around the city. When I go into the mission select, choosing to track the Riddler points me to exactly nowhere. How do I find the second race?
And I saw some trailer while roaming around the city with a green question mark inside. I tried to use my batclaw to get inside but the game said I needed to use my car's winch. So I called the bat mobile and attached the winch but it still wouldn't open. And I honestly don't even know why I want to get inside anyway!
The game tells me I can find new missions by interrogating people. Ok. How the heck do you interrogate people? The game doesn't tell me and I can't find an answer online.
And that damn radio-chatter is so annoying when it continues to play during cutscenes and detective vision. Why doesn't the game automatically shut it off when investigating???
This is the worst tutorial I have ever seen. I have no idea what I'm doing.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
If so I already have it. How the hell do you run diagnostics???
See, this is what I'm saying. The game is directionless.
And I played and adored AA. I was pretty good at it too. But this game is just mystifying me...Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
I think this is going to be a case of Uncharted syndrome, where City was so good that people overlook how truly good this game is (everyone gives Uncharted 2 the nod because it was a bigger leap than 2 to 3, but 3 is just 2 but better). The story is way above City to me, the main campaign in that game was the least interesting part. The side content is even IMO. Combat is better, gliding is better, the city is bigger, the best mobility system in a game bar none with the combo of the Batmobile, gliding, and grappling...the batmobile is relied on too heavily during story missions for sure, but when I'm dive bombing off of Wayne Tower dropping on to the street in the Batmobile en route to stopping Two Face from robbing a bank, I am Batman, and that's something that I feel a lot more in this game than in City. I never feel overmatched. I've got all my gadgets, my combat skills, and the Batmobile. This is as Batman as it gets.
Also, the score is just as awesome as City to me, I just sit around on Gargoyles in Predator situations letting the music play sometimes lol.Last edited by DieHardYankee26; 06-27-2015, 12:00 PM.Originally posted by G PericoIf I ain't got it, then I gotta take it

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
I completely love this game. I won't belittle anyone else's feelings towards it, but I for one love everything about it so far. I feel like arkham city was not a big enough map to traverse in a vehicle, and the batmobile is needed more frequently in Gotham because it is a full scale city with its own unique obstacles that require more than just a few belt gadgets.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
Once you understand how the missions interact with the world it really opens up into an awesome experience. Traveling across the rooftops looking for billowing smoke to track down Firefly, looking for groups of thugs hoping to find a kidnapped firefighter, or racing through the streets it just feels like you're in the cowl more so than any other games in the series.

Is there anyway to make the text any bigger in game? I have pretty good vision but sometimes I have to walk up to the TV just to see the button prompts.
It may be more of an XB1 thing because Halo: MCC is the same way.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
I'm having the hardest time destroying the plane that is continuously shooting missiles at you after you get out of the elevator with the final employee. Any tips? I can destroy all the grounded vehicles, but I can't seem to stay locked on the plane long enough to kill it before I die. Frustrating...."Hate my game, hate my swagger, my hunger. Re: Batman: Arkham Knight
I've taken a different approach to playing and have found the game much more enjoyable because of it. Instead of choosing which missions to pursue, I just randomly swing around the city. Listening to thugs and paying attention to landscapes (like others have mentioned) will lead you to missions or awesome *** whoopings. It creates a fresh randomness (and you get a break from the Batmobile) . I was able to start 3 side missions doing this.
