    Re: Homefront: The Revolution (X1/PS4/PC)

I don't know. I tried to watch the gameplay demo earlier, but couldn't make it to the end. It just seemed boring at some point. Maybe I don't understand how this game works, but it just doesn't make me want it (and I love shooters).

The graphics look nothing special or even not that good. And it's just keeps going without any excitement.

I have never played the first one, but I think I watched almost the entire walkthrough (youtube) and liked it.
    My Specs:

    ZX Spectrum
    CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
    GPU: Monochrome display
    RAM: 48 KB
    OS: Sinclair BASIC

I really want to like this game, I keep hearing mixed things from Twitter and Reddit.

I definitely have my eye on it. Sounds like it could be amazing

Yeah, me too. Impressions on neogaf haven't been kind to say the least which is a shame because it's said to be a Far Cry type game but without the animals and im like, okay, sounds good to me but sadly, seems to be destined to be one of the worse games this gen and after the beta, probably should have been delayed.

With that all said, im at the very least hoping for solid reviews in the 7-8 range as I want to give it a shot but if it's real bad, I'll either pass or wait for a sale.

I really enjoyed the first one, especially the MP, but the MP in this one doesn't seem as fun, so I may wait until it's cheap to buy it.

              SPOILERS below...

Posting this because it seems like this game needed another six months of development time, if not more. The entire HUD is cut off or off-screen but it could be the user. What isn't the user is that there's no aiming reticle, the enemy AI is horrible repeatedly shooting at the wall from the outside instead of moving in and around and shoot you. The gunplay looks bad. And in the previous video (part 4), the game actually pauses at the 10:04 mark for a few seconds. I was very interested in this game but jeez, it's looking very very bad.

Seems like this game has potential to be great. I think I'll probably wait until a Steam sale down the road after it's been patched up

                  A few tidbits -

                  1. Best Buy is offering a $10 gift card when pre-ordering Homefront: The Revolution for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Needless to say, I just pre-ordered the game. Figured that for $38 plus tax, how bad can it be? And even if it is that bad, I'll just trade it in.

                  2. It's been confirmed that there's a day one patch and it's recommended that you download the patch before starting the single player campaign.

Have they said anything about how long the single player campaign is?

I preordered it. Best Buy is giving you a $10 gift card so it seems like a no brainier. I liked the first one and I like the overall story and I like to support games that are FPS and have long single player campaigns.

Homefront: The Revolution will feature an epic single player campaign with 30+ gameplay hours of longevity, according to the Game Director.

Obviously I'm sure 30 hours is "every nook and cranny" mark but that's typically the way I play games like this anyway

And remember the first game had about a 5 hour campaign. I beat it in 1 day.

This is a game that would typically play right into what I like, but there is so many miscues and negative comments floating around, I will likely just wait until some impressions come from people on the boards.
