Re: Bloodborne
Found the elevator and now I can quickly get to Father G! I at least hit him this time. I've leveled up to an 18 focusing on vitality and strength. After my defeat I figured I'd take a break and play Bioshock (game I was in love with before Bloodborne) and after 10 mins I was ready to head back to Central Yharnam.
And, I just realized I could run last night. Because the game is fast paced I'd assumed that just pushing the left stick firmly in one direction was running. Boy was I wrong. I must've COMPLETELY ignored that one when I was walking around reading the notes/tips in the Hunter's Dream when I started playing. Haha

You should also increase your endurance, keeps you from running out of energy while running, dodging and swinging weapons.

Vitality: 2
Endurance: 1
Strength: 3
Bloodtinge: 1
I just saw what you're referring to about endurance last night though. I was swinging my axe with the normal attack and notice it slowed down...looked up at the green bar and it was depleted. I'd also noticed much earlier (once I learned that I could actually run) that it drains as you're running. I'll definitely be focusing in on that.
I like that it seems that as you level up, your adversaries kind of level up as well. A charged axe attack (holding R2 on PS4) would take a guy down in one shot. Now, that guy will get up and keep fighting. With a standard attack (R1) I could hit a guy 3 times, maybe 4, and he was down. Now, we battle. Might all be in my head though.F-L-O-R-I-D-A! S-T-A-T-E! Re: Bloodborne
Thanks. I actually did increase my endurance by 1 so far. I started the game using the 'professional' archetype. My leveling breakdown has been (if memory serves):
Vitality: 2
Endurance: 1
Strength: 3
Bloodtinge: 1

The enemies do not scale to your level, as you progress through the levels the new enemies will get tougher. Keep in mind your weapon that you use does degrade with use and it will not be as affective as if it were at full strength. You can repair it at the Hunters Workshop.

Didn't realize that. Must be why after I returned to Central Yharnam "Broken Weapon " was on top of the screen. Time to grind a bit and repair my axe!
This game is so deep!

I must admit.... NOW, Father G is getting frustrating lol Most attempts, I don't even get to touch. I last longer when I just keep rolling and avoiding him lol

Bloodborne
Right after posting this I developed a strategy by accident. Found out that if I keep him on the other side of a bank of tombstones and play keep away I can get some hits on him. I usually make a mistake somewhere When I'm running and it'll take some more tries to perfect it. The best I've done so far was take about 60% of his life out of him. Almost there.

Re: Bloodborne
One recommendation I'll make for Father G is to try to parry him with your pistol/blunderbuss while he's attacking. You can get quite a few visceral attacks on him which take large chunks of damage at a time. That's really one non-spoilerish tip I'll give is to use your firearm to your advantage with a well timed parry. Visceral attacks are absolutely brutal.
Thanks!! I'll for sure give that a try when I attempt to fight him again. I've been able to get some visceral attacks using my method but haven't gotten over the hump yet. I gotta go out and grind for a while now to get my stock of blood vials back up. I'm down to 1. [emoji30]

I used it a few times where I really was struggling with a boss and didn't want to grind for echoes to buy more blood vials. There is an upcoming early boss (no spoilers) that on my first playthrough I just could not beat so I used it, but on my second playthrough with a different build I beat the boss solo on my first try. Thats the thing with bosses, depending on your playstyle and build they may give you more trouble than others. Lots of people keep a low-level character to help beginners at early bosses.
Papa G is super aggressive and hits really hard. On my first NG+ playthrough it took me about 12 tries and I was about to request help on the hunters bell.Last edited by ESPNdeportes; 01-31-2017, 03:33 PM."You can not ensure success, but you can deserve it." - John Quincy Adams

Re: Bloodborne
Its always most satisfying to defeat a boss solo, but if you really need help, I'd recommending using the Hunter's Bell subreddit, you can put in requests for help with bossfights.

I'm not ashamed to admit I used the bell a couple times as well.

Until last night I hadn't played in almost a week. Still didn't beat Father G but I did bust him up enough for him to change forms which I TOTALLY didn't know was going to happen and was NOT prepared for. I've tried some of the other methods. I think parrying with the Blunderbuss would work but I'm using the axe and to get the best bang for my buck I need to do an extended axe, charge attack. Problem is, he's not stunned long enough to extend the axe and hit him with a charged move.
In case you're not aware, if you're using the axe and extend it you put the Blunderbuss away. Whenever I'm able to buy another weapon I'm getting the saw. Lol
