A lot of people claim that it does for them. It doesn't for me, but even with the platinum trophy, three playthroughs (including the DLC), all the chalice dungeons cleared, hundreds of hours, I still want to play it......yeah, it is my favorite game of all time.

I think I want it to become that for me. I've already been looking at Dark Souls III after a trade-in of Titanfall 2!

          Bloodborne

I chose the saw cleaver as my right hand weapon. Extended, the animation is slower to execute. When it's in its folded position though, I can attack quickly and get outta the way.

I was in your boat before buying Bloodborne my man. I had never touched a FromSoft game before, but blind bought Bloodborne based on the reviews. Best decision I've ever made. The feeling I had the first time I took down the first required boss (don't want to spoil anything incase you're not that far) will likely never be matched. I was so frustrated despite knowing that all of my failures on him were on me and me alone, so once it finally clicked, it was incredible. And it also doesn't hurt that after him, the game completely opens up. I've beaten the game multiple times now.

Dark Souls III is incredible as well, and I've also beaten that multiple times with various builds. It's very much so a different beast however. It's not as slow as the older Souls games and is in fact fairly close to Bloodborne in terms of speed, but it's much more tactical and you're more reliant on monitoring stamina and potentially blocking with a shield depending on the playstyle. That's the one thing Souls has over Bloodborne is the incredible variety of playstyles you can have. However, I preferred Bloodborne's more Lovecraftian setting.

Basically, you're getting heavily invested in one of the best developers in the world, so enjoy!

Haven't beat a boss yet. Haven't even fought a boss yet as they're behind the fog doors right? There are a few huge creatures such as the overweight armored dude in the corner on the street level after the 1st (and only that I've seen) lantern. I didn't fare well. Lol

I TOTALLY agree on feeling that deaths are your own fault though. I'm still learning to spam that dodge button with consistency. I started over because I was trying to get some blood echoes and sold my saw cleaver and saw no way to buy another right hand weapon. Haha I'm still getting killed by the other hunters or whatever they are that roam the streets because they attack so aggressively in a group and they surround you causing lots of damage. Keeping pebbles on hand is imperative to me in order to draw em out and take em one at a time.

Still learning about the blood echoes. Had to do some googling because I don't typically play games that require me to purchase level ups to become more lethal so that's still new.

Just love the game though and it's all I've been playing. I can't believe that I'm actually into a game like this still. Before giving up sports games, non-sports gaming to me was a military shooter. Haha

Gonna enjoy this From Software ride for sure!!

Question... am I ever going to find anything inside of these crates and barrels I keep breaking like a mad man? No spoilers. Simple yes/no is all I require. Lol

                    Bloodborne

It's certainly ok to run (Read that somewhere looking for info on crates and barrels). Found my way around to the other side of the gate near the first lantern. Thank goodness for that shortcut! Beat the 2 beasts on the bridge on my second attempt. Don't know if it's cheap or not but when they charged me I hauled *** back into the building I'd just come out of with the dude in the wheelchair. It was foolish because it is so small but it turns out that they couldn't fit through the door. As they continued to try I kept destroying them with my R2 attack using my extended axe!

Went into the sewer and died right at the end.

The longer I play, the more I find that the game isn't necessarily difficult as much as it requires patience that other games don't. It is ill advised to run in "guns blazing" on this game as may be perfectly acceptable on other games. I die frequently because I'm still breaking old habits and developing that patience.

And now that I'm done for the night, typing this message has me wanting to play more so I can get to the first boss and start leveling up! HA

                      Bloodborne

Played through an area in the sewer, took out the big hog in the tunnel got some guys on the bridge with a power attack, took out the dude with the cinder block and realized, "Ya know, I haven't died in about 30 mins!" And instantly put the PS4 in rest mode to quit while I am ahead! [emoji23]

Just had my first wack death. I finally made it to the first boss then right after the cut scene he was right up on me. Used the right stick to turn and all but couldn't see a thing.

I'm guessing you're up to Father Gascoigne? If so, you have to be ready to fight as soon as you enter the fog door. He's hyper aggressive.

That's exactly where I am. Should've used the thingamabob to go back to Hunter's Dream and spend my blood echoes before I lost em. About 3900 blood echoes gone. Then I died on my way back to Father Gascoigne so they're gone for good. Lol

Taking a break now and playing The Order: 1886 that I got for 4.99 from the PS Store this morning. In the process of going all digital to make it easier to switch between games.
