Nice class analysis, Phobia. I can't wait to see the new additions that they add to the mix. I run with pretty much all of them. I'd say Twitch and Smoke are my least used.

Phobia explain your love of silencers to me, I haven't tried them in the game but with no mini map I dont see the point. What makes them good for you?

Ash - Her light armor makes her an excellent silent assassin with her silenced assault rifle. My general role I use her for is to catch roamers, I like to stay in a crouch to minimize her noise. Use her breach charge to cause distractions THEN use her speed to rush a room FAST FAST. Launch a charge at the opposite side of their defense room, a sec after it explodes which will draw their attention to the hole, sprint into the room and merc people.

Montagne - When people utilize montagne properly they can be a breaching force. He is basically invincible when faced from the front, his only weaknesses are nitro charges & flanks. He is the eyes and should only be played by someone who utilizes their mic.

I'll show a child like illustration how we use him. 1 operator will be watching the rear and other possible flanking locations. Operator 2 will be montagne weapon, he will utilize montagne shield to get the drop on enemies inside of a defensive room.

Step 1: Montagne extends shield, positions his self so he can see inside the room. Don't stand in middle of door way, because they will then see BEHIND him when someone is ready to strafe out. Instead, position where you cover half the door way.

Step 2: Montagne is calling out specific locations of enemy, while most likely taking fire. This is normally executed as fast as possible before the enemy can realize to hold their fire.

Step 3: Operator 2 slides behind montagne and extends right behind his shoulder, killing the called out enemies. The important thing here, they don't see you preparing to slide around, they won't expect it allowing operator 2 to get the drop on them.

Step 4: Montagne moves inside, clearing both corners before team moves in and performs it all over again at the next room.

Glaz - He has several advantages besides just his scope. On the plane level his rifle is the only weapon which can kill through the windows, so climbing to the wing and dispatching enemies from a completely unexpected location can quickly change the tide.

I like to pair his rifle with the silencer, stay outside and allow my team to open long sight lines. When you do move inside, positioning yourself laying on the floor, in-line with the breaching door can be devastating also. As soon as the charge is breached you will be in perfect position to drop a couple, while being hard to detect with the smoke and debris, plus your low profile.

Pulse - In my opinion he is the best roamer in the game. I like to go directly for drones at the start, attempting to remove as many as possible before they can locate the defense area. Plus buying time for mute to place jammers. Once the assault phase begins, roam the map, preparing to flank at their breach locations. Utilizing the heart beat sensor to catch them when they believe they are safe.

Thatcher - I think Thatcher is under utilized to be honest. He isn't the greatest when you face a defending team which runs 1 or 2 roamers, but when you face a team all huddled inside the defended location he is a beast. He will allow breaching at just about any location except reinforced walls.

One of the coolest and least talked about ways to utilize his emp is to "remove" all "white noise" inside the defenders room. I'll give you an example, say entire defending team is inside the administrative offices. Radios are yappin away, machines are causing buzzing, ceiling fans are spinning away, and several different devices are causing noise. It normally goes unnoticed by most people, until they are all huddle up and an emp rolls into the room and blows out all the electrically equipment and the room goes DEAD silent, its an eerie feeling. At this point, any movement by the defenders is easily heard, but on top of that, their OH **** tension factor will go sky high anticipating where the breach will come from. Coordinate two or three breach charges at different locations and when its dead silent, several charges going off at the same time will be quite the shock.

Bandit - I feel he is another under utilized operator who can completely remove avenues to the attackers UNLESS they have thatcher. Place a barbed wire directly in the MIDDLE of a door way, have castle place a door, then place the shock device on your side of the door. It will make it darn near impossible for the attackers to destroy the shock device and will force them to get shocked if they want to place a charge on the door. Do this at each door entry point and you can really force the attackers into choke points.

I feel if you combo the right people you can really cause hell. Bandit + Castle with the above usage to lock a room. Mute placing jammers at the window entry points to prevent breaching charges. Jager to prevent fuze from causing hell inside the room and smoke to deter entry areas. LOL I could talk different strategies on this game all the time, so much fun!!!

Gameplay wise rank has no team outline, no grenade warning, no kill cam, voting on map and locations, no score pop ups, and you earn "rank" so you face people of your rank. Casual is all those things on but bomb & locations are randomly chosen, plus rank-free match making.

I run a pair of AKG K612 Pro headphones. Since they are open back their positional audio is fantastic. I can pinpoint location, distance, and direction very easily when a enemy is not using a silencer. When they are running a silencer, it has a "bounced" around sound which makes directional orientation very hard to determine, especially if they are more than 2 rooms away. So short version is that when the chaos pops off, I'll be the last one to garner your attention if walls are blowing up near you, loud gun shots coming across the hall, all while I'm dangling upside down from the adjacent window, silently dropping people in your room.

Throw me in the silencer camp. I've been slowly equipping them on all my main weapons.

Yea I think I am going to pick up this up next week...Loved the Thanksgiving Beta and the servers seem fine. And playing randoms doesn't seem as bad as it was during the beta. Especially because people who team kill are now getting kicked from games.

I was using silencers for awhile, but felt that I didn't do enough sneaking around with some operators that it was worth the damage reduction. However, guys like Bandit with their light armor making them ridiculously quiet, I do like to use a silencer then because it's a piece of cake to come up behind enemies when they're focused on breaching into the room for the objective.

Do you guys think using silencers should have an extra incentive? Like not knowing where your teammate died if killed by one?!

I'd say no, rank you cant see where your teammate died. Outside of rank i'd say the silencers do what their intended to do. A silencer doesn't make a gun produce no noise, instead it becomes hard to determine exactly where the sound came from. In a game such as this with a huge emphasis on sound stage, real punchy gun sounds, loud explosions, all within close confines, it allows those distractions to make the silencers have effectiveness.

Explosives or aim for the shoulder that is barely exposed or just wait for them to drop their shield and put one between their eyes. Obviously if their legs are exposed that is also another area to attack.
