Initial consensus - I love it.

PS: It looks great and runs smooth as butter on PS4.

Honestly I think the multiplayer is a lot of fun. It's not overwatch obviously but it does a good job at what it's trying to do. Killing in chaos

I'm looking forward to trying it out sooner or later

I have only played the single player so far.

            Positives
            Excellent sound effects
            Great melee system

            Negatives
While in the menus the ps4 fan revs up

Doom 3 on Xbox was my first multiplayer experience ever, so I'll definitely get this sooner or later and see what it has to offer. I'm actually really excited about it

I believe the fan revs up because the menus frame-rate is not capped like the gameplay, it does this in Uncharted multiplayer menus for this very reason. Not harmful to the system at least.

I messed around with the first level or so last night (was very tired and needed to sleep), and man this game runs so silky smooth on the PS4. It is also very clean, no jaggies and looks fantastic. The effects at 60fps are just eye candy. I love the presentation value as well, especially the opening title... just gets you 'old school I am a badass' pumped!

Picked it up on PS4. Really like what I played from the first couple levels of the Campaign. No nonsense. Straight to it. Good gunplay and level design, and lots of secrets.

Playing on Ultra Violence, turned the motion blur to low, turned off chromatic aberration, set FOV to 100, turned look smoothing to 0%, and switched to Strafe control scheme (Halo-like bumper jumper, so you can jump and aim without taking your thumb off the right stick). With all of this, it looks and feels great on console.

The third mission's level design and verticality is brilliant. I was sort of reminded of Metroid Prime.

Couldn't stop myself. Picked up Doom. Looks spectacular at 1440p ultra settings. Solid 60 fps on first level. Running it on an oc'ed 970 gtx. Game play is fun.

Can I just say this one thing... this game slaps all the haters in the face.

So many people were bashing this online through early gameplay videos, etc., and boy is this game so good. Worth every penny!

The only FPS I would put ahead of it this gen is Wolfenstein (and its story DLC).

                              This game is incredible.

Can you play against AI bot's in multiplayer? Just curious.
