I just picked it up and am popping it in now.
I'll play for a few and offer up some impressions.

I also picked it up just now.

I'll be playing it shortly and will reply back with my thoughts/impressions.

the game's probably pretty fun, no one's torn themselves away to post about it yet

Ok, I'm still going through the tutorial. It sure helps getting used to the controls, as each button can be used for multiple things in some cases. The tutorial is pretty simple, you've got a guy walking you through every scenario you may face on the battlefield. I can't imagine how tough it'll be when I don't have someone telling me what buttons to press. I'm up to the war games tutorial, which I think is the last stage. I had one of my members killed by a tank. I placed my alpha squad behind a wood blockade and that tank shredded it with gunfire. As I was running for cover behind a corner, one of my men was killed. I now have to start the war games over again.

The game is more involved that I thought it would be. You don't pull the trigger but you tell your team when to. If your me are under fire and are not secure, they will automatically return fire. You do aim and fire the grenade launcher as well as toss grenades.

Control between both squads is very easy to pick up. I'm going to get back to this tutorial so I can actually see what it's like out on the battlefield.
