    Re: FSW Impressions...

Ok, I've had the game for 4 hours and all I have to say is.....AAWWWWWWWWEEEEEEESSSSSSSSOOOOOOMMMMEEEEE!!!

FIrstly I want to note that I am playing on the harder difficulty level, I believe it's 'Master Seargent'. IMO this is a MUST.

In 4 hours I have completed the training missions and am STILL in the first 'real' mission. If I had to summarize so far I would say that this is the closest thing to living 'Blackhawk Down' that I have ever done.

The characters and voice acting are supurb. After awhile you get to know the guys and feel like you know 'em. What's great is how they make all these smart [censored] remarks and stuff when they're fighting one guy and kicking his [censored]. HOWEVER, I had Alpha team pinned next to a car and taking HEAVY fire from RPG and HMG and the team leader was screaming like a madman at his team under all the chaos. You could FEEL it!

You must be VERY careful as you can lose your guys quickly. You really need to use cover, flanking, and your MIND to be successful. THere have been so many cool moments so far that I don't know where to start. In fact I wanna go back and play now!

All I can say at this point. If you're really into military realism, tactics, depth (even the music puts you in the mood) then check this out at least rent. And if you do, play it on the harder level. It's not impossible or anything, but you can't save as often and if you make a dumb [censored] move, you will PAY.

So after four hours I LOVE it. I only hope this takes some ttime to finish. THe one promising thing I saw is that is had XBL 'downloadable content'. Hmmmmm? Perhaps future downloadable missions?

OK, back to the freakin warzone! Hoooah!

Oh and one last point I forgot. One of the great things that this seems to capture is the chaos of battle. I mean your heart really gets pumping in heavy duty situations and you need to focus. I mean I actually get nervous at times. Just awesome how they could translate that in a game. Ok, more later.

Wow from the impressions so far it seems like a must have. I want to wait and see how the online play is first. Online is just for two people correct? I might pick this up come the weekend if I keep hearing good things.

How long is the game supposed to be? I heard from morning till almost nightfall..too bad you couldnt play at night as well.

I'll offer up more details tomorrow, but I must say before I go to bed: AWESOME GAME! I can see how it might not be for everyone, but if you like this type of game (although this is a different game than anything we've seen before) you should definitely pick it up. Great graphics, audio, and presentation. Yeah, there are some things that I wish were a tiny bit different, but for a first effort, this game deserves the 9+ score that IGN gave it. Oh yeah - if the movie Black Hawk Down sucked you in, you'll like this game. Can't wait to play more tomorrow.

                        Re: FSW Impressions...

Agree with all of the positive comments here. I haven't had to think this hard in a video game in a long time, especially at Master Sergeant level.

Quick question: Is anyone else finding they need to press the buttons, especially the A button, a little harder than normal to make commands? I wonder if it's just my disc, as I can use a light touch with the A button in every other game I own.

                        Thanks,
                        PK

gamespot mentioned that enemies spawned in the same place all the time (or something like that, don't remember the review exactly). I think I'm picking up this game, but for Live play it's concerning if it'd just be exactly the same level every time with enemies at the same sptot, if that make sense. Can anyone with the game comment on this yet? I know it's soon after the game came out, so maybe not
