I have to agree with everything Grondar said, this game is fantastic!! I played Riddick for about 20 minutes, then decided to pop this in, 1 1/2 hours later, I can't put it down. It's that good!

Thanks Sully . Have you got any farther with it?
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I agree, just got done with the training and the first mission - this is an excellent game. It really pulls you in with the atmosphere and a nice ramp up in difficutly level as you progress.

I'm also playing on the harder level, and boy does this game punish you for rushing. You really have to take your time and maintain situational awareness bigtime. While the replay system is awesome, it's just a shame you don't have control over the camera in replay or it would seem to be able to take down the on screen vcr display.

After putting it off for sometime, I may finally have to get xbox live specifically for the co-op...that's gotta be fun with the mic.

I'm kind of kicking myself right now for not opting for the tougher level of play.

I made it past the tutorial and was on to chapter 1. I wasn't too impressed with the objectives for this chapter up to the point where my whole alpha team was annihilated. First objective was to rescue a wounded medic and bring him to the casevac. Second objective was to move my men to a certain point, only to wait for a tank to come in and wipe out 3 gunmen that were at a distance.
I had a guy get wounded and was forced to carry him around up to another objective where I was supposed to wipe out a machine gunner.

Dumb [censored] me didn't learn from the tutorial and moved my alpha team behind another wood blockade (looks like a picnic table turned over). It didn't take long for that machine gunner to kill them all. Bullets shredded that wood, and my alpha team as well.
The game does a great job of making you feel involved. You must move slowly, and you must cover all angles. You can't just run around like a fool. I'm more interested in seeing what this game has to offer on Live more than anything. While the offline play is fun, I purchased this game with the intent to have a blast on Live completing missions.

This game is not for everyone, that's for sure. If you think this is a run around, shoot 'em up type of game, then you will despise it. I knew what to expect coming in, and I can honestly say the game has exceeded those expectations so far. I just hope the missions become more challenging and more involved as they progress.

Feel free to ask questions, I'll do my best to answer what I can.

i absolutely love the game but one thing i think i don't like is the way icons are displayed over the heads of your enemy. like when they're spotted, when they're taking cover, when they're wounded or when they're neutralized. i wish there was a way to turn this off because the game is kind of holding my hand a little too tight. for example, you setup your squad to position themselves on a corner wall and your squad leader when he gets to the corner he immediately spots all of the enemy positions with all of their icons popping up. i loved how in roguespear you REALLY had to look for enemies locations. also i hope more missions in FSW have enemies appearing in different altitudes. the first mission had all of them on the ground even though the town was filled with houses. i was hoping to see some on the roofs because of that first sniper nest in the tutorial.

thats one thing i dont like but everything else is great. the music, the graphics, the cutscenes. the soldier/character introductions.

Ok, I've had the game for 4 hours and all I have to say is.....AAWWWWWWWWEEEEEEESSSSSSSSOOOOOOMMMMEEEEE!!!

FIrstly I want to note that I am playing on the harder difficulty level, I believe it's 'Master Seargent'. IMO this is a MUST.

In 4 hours I have completed the training missions and am STILL in the first 'real' mission. If I had to summarize so far I would say that this is the closest thing to living 'Blackhawk Down' that I have ever done.

The characters and voice acting are supurb. After awhile you get to know the guys and feel like you know 'em. What's great is how they make all these smart [censored] remarks and stuff when they're fighting one guy and kicking his [censored]. HOWEVER, I had Alpha team pinned next to a car and taking HEAVY fire from RPG and HMG and the team leader was screaming like a madman at his team under all the chaos. You could FEEL it!

You must be VERY careful as you can lose your guys quickly. You really need to use cover, flanking, and your MIND to be successful. THere have been so many cool moments so far that I don't know where to start. In fact I wanna go back and play now!

All I can say at this point. If you're really into military realism, tactics, depth (even the music puts you in the mood) then check this out at least rent. And if you do, play it on the harder level. It's not impossible or anything, but you can't save as often and if you make a dumb [censored] move, you will PAY.

So after four hours I LOVE it. I only hope this takes some ttime to finish. THe one promising thing I saw is that is had XBL 'downloadable content'. Hmmmmm? Perhaps future downloadable missions?

OK, back to the freakin warzone! Hoooah!
