My impressions are:
I really did'nt know what to expect when I picked this game up. When I got home, I had a certain let down feeling before I poped the game in because I swore I was'nt gonna like it. Then after the first 2 training missions, I was initially disappointed because the game felt kinda basic and jerky. Then I played the last mission of the training which is sort of like a real world excercise. I could'nt put the controller down.
I'm absolutly in love with the game now. Its defitnitly a thinking mans game. Its points in the game where you'll just look at your GPS(map) and just stare at it like a lost little boy. Tryna firgure out some way to get closer to the enemy or some path to take. But once you do figure out where you gotta go, it feels so freakin rewarding.
I kinda dont mind the little stalemate that happens when both you and your enemy are secured behind something. The game was developed that way so you can stratergize more. If you can always kill a target behind a bunker then what fun would that be? It nothing more fun than sneaking up on a target thats already preoccupied with your other team and giving it to him before he even realizes it. Even if 90% of the game is this way, its still a fun thing that may never get old because its multiple ways to get to the target that you as a sqaud leader have to think of. Thats the way the game was designed, so thats the way you gotta play.
I have'nt really started the first level yet but all I know is that I was scared to move once they put the control in my hands. Like everyone else has been saying, the game is intense. You dont know anything at the beggining of the level and thats where your training kicks in so the 45 minute training(2 hours for me) was defitnitly worth it.
This game reminds me of Ghost Recon with the exception that you're not the one firing the gun. Plus free roaming the field is not the smartest thing to do. You must always stick behind some cover or consider yourself a sitting duck. All in all, just after the training mission, I consider this one of the most intense games I ever played.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

If you play it on Master Sergeant or the unlockable, even tougher levels, it's not a rental. Or it's a rental if you have tons of free time or are a combat veteran. Otherwise, it's going to take some time to finish at the tougher skill levels.
I can't stress this enough: If you make one mistake, your soldier will die. And the game ends when any of your eight soldiers dies. Just one death, game over.
FSW is unlike anything I've ever played on a console, and I go back to the Atari 2600 days. Very, very good game.
Take care,

Add to that the 6 more levels added with the Army modes, and the game has infinite play time since you can then edit everything. Plus you get flash bangs, and can enter buildings. If you think you are good at the game, try the Army mode, your opinion of how good you are will change, that I guarantee.Comment

Re: FSW Impressions...
...just wanted to add something. I reported earlier that I thought I was near the end (you'll know what I mean when you get there), but I was wrong. I have played about 20 hours and am at about 1:20pm game time and I have until 6:00pm I think.
It's getting super hard but I am making progress. I'm guessing when done on Master Seargent the game will take about 30-35 hours in the campaign. Then add to that the extra goodies. Solid purchase for me! And I HOPE they add more via downloadable contect. Like I good book I don't want this one to end.PSN: JISTIC_OS
