Hey Extreme....so what's the verdict after a night of playing? Worth purchasing for single player and/or co-op??

Ok, I put some time into the game. I feel if you like arcade FPS, you'll like this. Controls are very "Halo-ish". Co-op is oustanding. The game feels like you are in a movie, stuff blows up, people die, no blood or swearing though. It is fun.
Now for the bad. If you die mid level, you start the level over entirely...if you play on the hardest setting, if you die ANYWHERE, you start at the beginning of the GAME. WOW! Online...eh, it's hit or miss. I saw a lot of lag in about any game I played in, but it's peer to peer and doesn't give you a connection reading, so it could be people with bad uploads to begin with hosting a game. The online portion needs a patch...soon. First problem, you have no idea who's talking and when. There's no indicator what so ever. Second, there's no real way to tell who's on your team and who's not other than their uniform color, but if you change games a lot, you'll forget what uniform you are wearing and end up killing your own team, it's not until you already have your sights on them that it has a "ghostbuster" sign over them signaling that they are on your team. The VIP mode is really the bread and butter, and that is even flawed. The online maps are great though, 9 maps, all very large and tons of rooms to run around in. After a few hours online though, it went back to feeling like SOF online. Not good.
It comes down to this, I really enjoy the single player and the story, it kind of sucks you in. The online multiplayer could use some work, but could easily be patched. Give me the signal strength meter, let me know who's talking, and give me names over teammates or something so I know who's on my team and now, and we're talking. Does it replace Rainbow Six 3?...No. Is it fun...very much yes, the offline mode smokes RS3. The online mode isn't even in the same class. Everyone I played with seemed to have the same concerns and the SOF comparisions. We'll see.
