    Re: Overwatch

Looking at some of the stat lines and I realize more than ever how average I am... I did have a nice POTG. Looked like our team was dead in the water on a payload map. Everyone dead but me. I snuck around the left flank and waited for the reaper ultimate to charge the last 2% and pulled off a quad kill and we brought it home the last few meters.

Which is a better feeling than dominating the other team in a loss, to me.

I'll compare it to my heroes games in ranked play (because I'll never take quick match and actual competitive play the same way) - I'd rather be mediocre on a solid team than a star on a losing one.

Totally agree. We were in a capture the point map on hanamura and we had a minute left and I was urging the team to ditch the snipers and converge on the point as they had bastion and torbjorn turrets untouchable by snipers and the snipers were like I have a 20-2 kill ratio. I was like great but we lost.

I have a buddy that plays sniper and I tell him the same thing. A few times in the game it's nice to have widow locking down an area, but mostly I find her kills shallow.

Yeah. I mean I fully admit that I am not great so I need to use counters if the opposing team is kicking my butt with a hero. Tracers kicking your ***, switch to McCree and flash bang her butt and fan the hammer. Pharrah bombing reaper to death switch to zenyatta. Hero switching is an incredibly powerful part of the game.

Yea I agree, I've been switching a bit more lately.

Still so many heroes I've yet to use.

Really important to have a sniper to deal with turrets and bastions but once they have had enough and switched the sniper should too.

Unless he is one of those God snipers. Than by all means keep doing your thing.

Having 1 Widowmaker/Hanzo on a team is always good if the rest of the team is pushing the objective. They help turn the numbers on your side in team fights, especially if they can snipe a Bastion or another Widowmaker/Hanzo. Widowmaker's ult is a huge help if you are about to attack a point also.

The problem comes when you have 2 or 3 of them because then your team is either missing out on close/mid range damage dealers or tanks.

Yeah I agree that hero switching is one of the most important components of the game and vital to beating good teams.

Reapers ultimate can really turn the tide of a battle fast

Definitely but with most you can hear or see them coming a little bit. A well timed teleport/ultimate combo is devastating. But every ultimate is powerful, for sure. I've seen a good reaper pull off a 4-piece or a team kill numerous times.

I guess it also says something about the team getting mopped by it that they are so close together.

It is definitely a flanking ult. If they see you coming as reaper, they will shut it down. I haven't team wiped. Best is a 4 man.

Yeah but Reapers IMO is probably the easiest to use out of all of them. I probably hear Die, Die, Die 4 or 5 times a game. Lol.

I mean you literally dont even got to aim his Ult. And since he is pretty strong and easy to use in general building your Ult with eliminations isnt that hard.

Other Ults you got to aim or set up first, his you essentually just jump into the group and hit ult.

To reiterate I dont think he is OP but he is a 1 star difficulty hero for a reason. He also is one of the few heroes that can do Offense or Defense without missing a beat, has a get in (Tele) and a get out (Wrath Form) as well.

He gets just as many Plays of the game then Bastion. Lol

Yeah, I remember a game where Bolt was able to shut down the reaper a few times before he got off the full "die, die, die."

Widow maker is one of my worst heroes, for some reason I can "snipe" better with hanzo than her. Maybe that says something about my lack of quick twitch snap-aim skill. Zarya and Winston are still my weakest heroes for me but I'm trying to improve my game with them.

McCree can really be a blast to play when you get down the stun/fan the hammer/roll for insta reload/shoot and then repeat pattern

Anyone looking to group up today?
