I hate games that are fun. Why would someone try to make a video game fun?

I understand your point of view on the game. In my opinion, the issue is with Doom getting the 7.1, not so much with Overwatch getting the 9.4. My personal review/assessment of the game was a 8.5 and the only reason why I didn't give it a 9.5 or better is because out of the box I feel the content is lacking, as far as quantity. The quality of everything in this game is fantastic, I just feel like a game of this specific type in the genre should probably launch with a plethora of maps and game modes, but that's just me.

That being said, I do recognize there are holes in my argument there. What you buy when you spend 60 bucks on this game isn't just the launch content, but also the FREE post-launch support that Blizzard is going to provide, which I expect to be awesome and fantastic. No "season pass," all free DLC coming our way in the forms of maps/modes and heroes, which is awesome.

Someone could also argue that "content" is kind of subjective. The real "content" of the game is the heroes. Each one plays differently than all the others, it's like playing the game in a brand new way each time you switch, and that in itself is "content." It isn't just an arbitrary thing either, you will HAVE to switch heroes and take advantage of all the mechanics if you want to win the majority of your matches. For example, at the end of our session last night there were only 3 of us left in party, so we had 3 randoms. We were attacking against a team of 2 engineers, a Bastion, a healer, and two other guys who didn't really matter. The three of us switched to a setup to try and counter the turrets but it was impossible without our randoms switching as well (they should have switched to say Hanzo, or Widowmaker, to provide long range support against the turrets while we went in and cleaned up everyone else).

This game is truly fantastic and I am sure I will spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in it.

I see your point on lack of content overall. Other games get crucified for it while this game has been praised.

This is a huge point to me.

I think most thought this would be a free to play during the initial alpha stages or even discounted priced game but with it being $60 kindly scared of users...fortunately, with today's mindset of post-launch content being paid DLC, Blizzard is making everything free so I feel like after 6-12 months, I'll truly be getting my $60/worth of a game that is balanced and fully supported.

One point about Baston. I disagree with tanking him like the guide suggests. You can rip through Reinhardt in no time and DVa has no chance. Gengi and Tracer on the other hand rip him apart, while Reaper appearing out of the shadows behind him is also an easy kill.

Sorry for the drive by, but this just really stuck out as it's so nonsensical to me. Upset that a game is being so well received just because it's fun? Isn't that the whole point of games?!

No disrespect to you dude, but you really need to elaborate on a statement like that.

As for the game itself, I'm loving it. I hadn't really played any FPS's in a few months on a steady diet of Dark Souls, The Show and NHL 2k10, and the combo of DOOM (unbelievably good game, likely the best single player FPS I've played in years) and Overwatch has me back into things.

Yeah I finally dipped into playing as Tracer a bit last night and really enjoyed going after specific enemy heroes. Sneaking up behind a Widowmaker, flanking Bastion, teleporting behind a Reinhardt, it was fun.

The content they do have is so much fun, it warrants the score. Doom is not nearly as fun.

Playing with randoms tho is not. Team composition is just so lacking with a team of randos.

Roadhog is my favorite character. I still play with a mixture of other characters but Roadhog still gets my favorite character vote

As for the game, it's a blast and each game is so unique. Very glad I blindly took the plunge and purchased it.
