really upset a game like this gets 9.4 while a masterpiece like DOOM get 71 on IGN...

I know this is Overreaction Sports, and you're letting hyperbole run wild...

but games get scored on how fun they are and how well they do what they do.

Overwatch does everything it attempts extremely well.

DOOM does half of what it does extremely well. An extremely good single player campaign, with blah boring multiplayer. If DOOM released just as the single player game, I guarantee it's review scores (which, why the hell do you care about those anyways? It's literally being mad at something that doesn't matter) would be up in the 90s.

Keep your boycott up, though, Blizz won't miss your money. Or I guess the fact that the Overwatch subreddit had more page views than the reddit front page when the game got released just means that everyone enjoying a game is an idiot.

I personally don't think the game is worth $60 to me right now, but that's because I'm looking at it from a purely competitive standpoint (which is what it is to me) and ranked play isn't even implemented yet. I didn't pay for the game, so I have no idea if that shades what I think about it but this is the only competitive game that has pulled me away from HotS in a long time. It's absolutely fantastic.

I forgot D.Va has a knockback on her boost which actually does some damage (50 iirc). But more importantly, does anyone know if you can knock Bastion out of turret form with it? She can close distance with boost + matrix, and if you start it close enough you can easily reach Bastion before matrix gives out and take no damage on the way. If Bastion is out of turret form he gets melted by D.Va's fusion cannons at point blank range.

That might only be effective against loner bastions with no team support though - D.Va's mech dies pretty quickly when she's surrounded without matrix.

Ran into 6 Mei in arcade and they could be stop. We pushed them into Overtime but could stop their Cryo freeze.

Finally hit lvl 40. Got 500g in the loot box. Was able to buy the Mariachi skin for Reaper which looks bad ***. I'm gonna go force myself to have a social life now lol. But I'll be on more over this weekend. Hope to get some games in with you fellas soon.

Well, caved and bought the game last night. Ended up playing till 4 AM just with randoms. This game just feels refreshing and enjoyable. Can't wait to really start figuring things out.

I've never really tried to solo a Bastion with D.va, I've approached him with D.Va as me laying down the defense matrix while a teammate melts him. I gotta see if her charge affects his turret form, that's a good question.

Like Jistic said, a Tracer or Genji will mess up Bastion right quick

Got a Mercy question for you guys. I had somebody harassing me about not keeping the heal beam on Reinhardt while he had his shield up, and was instead damage boosting nearby teammates who were behind him. When he took it down or it broke, of course I had the heal beam on him non-stop.

I don't let stuff like that bother me, but if it's really better to keep a constant heal beam on a tank that's not getting damaged....whatever. Rein's not going to get one-shot by anything short of D.Va's exploding mech, so I can immediately switch to healing if need be. If I see his HP drop (which of course is displayed right in the middle of the screen), the beam's on him. Feels like I'd be wasting my potential to help out the team to its fullest. It's not like I took out my blaster and started firing at the nearest enemy.

It gets me that a guy goes out of his way to send a message to someone over a damn game. Even worse that he was mad at you because of you choosing to play the game how you like, not how he wants you to. It isn't that serious.

Like on BF4 if I was top 3 on the winning side and maybe along the way I killed the same guy a bunch of times? Some random guy who I have no clue who he is sends me a msg telling me all about my sexuality and that my mom is a prostitute lmao.

I dont even respond, I just put that player on my blocked list and move on. Not worth the energy or time. I'm trying to relax and have fun while shooting guys in the face digitally.

I ain't tryna get into e-peen battles online.

One point about Baston. I disagree with tanking him like the guide suggests. You can rip through Reinhardt in no time and DVa has no chance. Gengi and Tracer on the other hand rip him apart, while Reaper appearing out of the shadows behind him is also an easy kill.

Actually if you use D.VA you can charge then use defense matrix while in flight to take no damage from him. Then when he reloads or panics and goes into Recon Mode you can destroy him.

Roadhog is da best.

Playing with randoms tho is not. Team composition is just so lacking with a team of randos.

This is why I wish they had a party less game mode for Sole play. At least then everyone is not in a party together and there be more even matches.

No, it wont knock Bastion out of Turret Form, nothing in the game does (McCrees Flash, Road Hog Chain, etc). It does hurt him though.
