Re: Overwatch
After their 4 hour session just had I safely say this is gonna be a for sure purchase for me.
Everytime I think something may be OP I then learn a counter for it. Very deep gameplay. So much variety in play style.
With 3 of us it was great, with six of us I bet it's gonna be amazing"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
Yeah every character is good in the right hands. I would like to see a few small balance tweaks though as some are definitely better than others. These are my thoughts on a few classes that could use small tweaks.
Reaper - love playing him, and the hard counter is range... He has one of the highest dps in the game though, heals with orbs after kills, and has abilities make him extremely mobile and temp invulnerable... Which means he wins most 1v1, he can pop into a group unleash his massive ultimate, pop invulnerable and get out. Oh and the range on his shotguns isn't too bad either lol.
Bastion,- his turret wrecks if placed in a good position. Again the counter is range/flank, but he has good range too and if he backs into a wall you can't really flank him which severely limits the counters to him. Especially if he has a healer nearby where you can't just widdle him down. He can still be beat with good teamwork but you will take more losses than with most other characters. I'd like to see maybe a cool down on his ability to get out of and go back into turret mode so at least people can't just constantly reposition.
Tracer - I actually think she could use a small damage buff. For a glass cannon there isn't much cannon about her. Outside of picking off low health characters, unassuming stragglers, and being generally annoying I find her usefulness to be lacking. She can be good in the right hands but I think everything she does outside of light harass is done better by other characters. Other than not being able quickly zip across the battlefield, I think Reaper is just as mobile in a fight with much higher Dps, more hp, the ability to self heal (kind of) and has his on ability to extract himself from a bad situation.
Junk rat - the AoE on his ultimate is too big given its destructive ability. I think if you destroy it prematurely it should lose some of its power, or it should lose some of its range.
Again no class is truly broken but I think the above are slightly out of balance. I think bastion is the most likely to receive a nerf of some kind.
I kind of enjoy the mystery character mode in concept, and maybe it was just bad luck... I played about a dozen games in it yesterday though and out of 21 heroes 90% of my spans were among just 3.
Very upsetting about competitive mode not being available at launch.... Kind of a key mode to be missing at launch, but I guess it's better to fix it now.Comment

Re: Overwatch
Played last night. Was fun but we had some massive issues with "turret" characters.
Any good counters on how to take them out?

Re: Overwatch
Turrets are vulnerable to range and flanking. Was it bastion, torj or symmetra?
Symmetras Turrets are annoying but do much damage per second and are destroyed with 1 hit.
Bastion does not have full 360 radius so characters like tracer, reaper, and anyone else who can get behind will be at a disadvantage. Hanno and widow maker are also pretty effective if you are accurate. You just want to snipe them from distance and duck for cover.
Torb is similar too. Also characters like junk rat and pharaoh with their ranged exploding attacks will make quick work of his turret.
Unless you are sniping though, the key is really to make sure you aren't running in solo without support from your team. You also just can't go in Rambo style with the team there either. Combine the above counters with a push at the right moment and you should be able to pull it off.
I haven't tried it, but I think it could be effective with a strong team push. Ice wall the turret you are facing with Mei to either buy a few seconds to work on the Turrets support or to get into a strong flanking positionComment

Re: Overwatch
Absolutely right. Even the healers are all pretty radically different in how they hope to accomplish their role. Just like on the assault side it's way different playing as tracer than as soldier 76 (or whatever). I definitely think it's awesomely balance and varied.
The only hero I consistently saw dominating was Bastion
The main thing that first attracted me to this game is Blizzard. I have extreme faith in their ability as devs
I'm not sure I'll use anyone else again (unless he were nerfed in some way).
I was going on huge killstreaks once I switched to him. It was almost getting ridiculous heh.
Only played about 3 hrs this morning, it's a fun little change of pace game. I'll delve into it more later.

Re: Overwatch
Extremely fluid. I dunno if it's locked at 60 FPS but it definitely does not seem to stutter or slowdown at all from my experience. Extremely responsive controls
Controls are not complicated, using your abilities may be somewhat complicated but activating them is simple. Standard R2 to shoot, powers mapped to L1 and R1, etc
Very fun game, plan on playing more of it today and hoping to group up with some of my normal gaming friends tonight or over the weekend.

Re: Overwatch
One good counter to bastion/any torrent is Reinhardt. If you can shield up until you get close enough for the charge kill they can be taken out easily...now it doesn't work every time of course if you get too deep and your getting shot from your non shielded side then your gonna go down quick

Re: Overwatch
Was just checking out the Overwatch website to see when it will be available to play tomorrow and I came across this "The all access portion of the Open Beta will begin on all supported platforms May 4 at 4:00 p.m. PDT (11:00 p.m.UTC). All players will be able to play for FREE during this period; no sign-up or code required." So does that mean I will be able to play it tonight at 7PM?Comment

Re: Overwatch
Out of all the characters Bastion is the one I got a problem with regarding OPness. Everyone else seems fine.
Is there any counter to Junk rats ult? I die to it a lot.
