Re: Overwatch
You can try shooting junks ultimate before it gets to you but the aoe on that is still insane so anything short to medium range will still hurt.
Bastion is slightly OP. He's really effective against people who dont use cover and run around Rambo style. There are counters to him though. Hanzo or widow maker with 2 snipes can wreck him, mobile characters that can get in his blind spot are insta win. I wouldn't mind seeing a small nerf though. My biggest complaints against him are that his turret mode has 0 cool down so he can reposition instantly, and his reload is too fast considering he can lay down suppressing fire for longer than anyone not named D. Re: Overwatch
I don't know if I said this on here or not but I do think that this game might not appeal to everyone. It's definitely a very different kind of shooter than console gamers who prefer CoD or BF might like.
Bottom line is it's a free beta so I think everyone should give it a try
(And my comment about our impressions not good enough was a total joke in case that came off wrong)Last edited by The JareBear; 05-04-2016, 02:54 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
This is a legit shooter and there is no real aim assist (that I noticed anyways and thank goodness). You need to have a good aim and things move fast.
It's just not as tight as say a BF4, it's quick and snappy but just a tad loose but nothing game breaking. I play on max vert & horiz btw at 100 each.
There are going to be players that maybe don't necessarily have the best 'stick skills'. However if they understand the mechanics well and have good map knowledge and understand the objective & play it well with good communication they'll do amazing.
Those abilities help a ton.Comment

Re: Overwatch
Just keep mind that while this is a "legit shooter" in some ways, I don't consider it a legit shooter in the sense of CoD. It's not that kind of game. It isn't team Deathmatch, it's not about k/d ratio
You don't have to shoot anything to be successful. It's a role based, class based, OBJECTIVE based team shooter. You are trying to capture or win objectives every match. You can be successful without firing a single shot. It keeps track of everything, enemies your freeze powers controlled, damage absorbed by your shield, healing done, assists from your radar/recon powers, you can win post game awards for everything, not just kills or damage done. There are many many ways to contribute to the team. You can set up a turret with your engy and let it so the dirty work while you go around dropping armor packs for your team built with scraps you pick up
You can play it like a CoD and just go assault and that's great too, you have options though. There are tons of right ways to play this game
You also don't have to be super twitchy to get kills. Some heroes have rocket launchers, grenade launchers, close range auto target weapons, etc
EDIT:
Keep in mind you can change your heroe during the match so if you need to switch things up to counter whatever the enemy team is doing that is where the chess match comes into playLast edited by The JareBear; 05-04-2016, 04:59 PM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Don't be mistaken, the skills can def turn the tide of battle of you're really good with using them but...

I'm by no means an expert having only logged about 11-12 hours or so with the game so far. I'll say this though it's easy enough for someone to jump in and play be effective to some degree, but there is a clear and obviously large skill cap too. Some characters are very noob friendly, others are very good if if played right, any character can be beast in the hands of a skilled player.
This game requires a few different kinds of skills which makes it impossible to compare to something like CoD. You still have individual skill in being able to have a good Kratio with twitch based combat as in any FPS. At the end of the day this is still the most important factor in any engagement (hard counters reduce the margin of error though).
The second is the skill of teamwork. It's easy to tell when a team is working together. This is a team/objective based game so communication and working together is more important than running around the map getting knife kills to rack up deathmatch scores.
The last is a skill more commonly seen in MMORPG's which is understanding game mechanices (ie: Hero A counters Hero B, or Hero C has this one ability which is really useful ) and knowing how/when to best take advantage of those mechanics. Everything else being equal, this will decide a match.Comment

Re: Overwatch
I think if there are 3-4 guys focuse on just wrecking and are good at the shooter you have room for 1-2 guys focused more on support and keeping the team alive especially on defend mode"Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."
