I always want to learn new characters but as the game goes on (and we get obliterated) I feel compelled to switch to characters I know. Kinda lame.
Also wish they'd add a solo playlist for people not in groups. Kinda frustrating to run into TeamGodModeActivated while on a team of uncoordinated blueberries.Comment

Yeah I'm with you there, I do try to stick it out more in games with randoms, figure our odds at victory are already iffy so good time to learn.Favorite Teams:

I don't really like the idea of capping heroes at one per team. I know it's been popular on the Blizzard forum at times, but to me it takes away the spirit of the game. This is a class based team game where at higher levels you will see various specialized groups designed to fulfill a certain purpose (similar to classes in a MMO game). If you cap heroes to 1 per team then you limit the available options for teams to try. Yes there are 21 heroes so that still leaves a lot of potential combinations even with the cap, but there are exponentially more without the cap. Also, since characters even within the same general class like "offense" play with completely different goals it can't be seen as though replacing a 2nd reaper with a Tracer would be able to execute the same strategy. The open ended class structure just offers far more creativity for team compositions.
Also, think of it from a countering perspective. Torb and Bastion are different characters, but both are essentially turrets. One of the better counters for both is Phara, but in a 1 hero cap situation you can only have 1 Phara while the other team has two turrets. Sure there are other potential counters for those characters, but you're also handicapping the counter to a turret team.Comment

Id be absolutely pissed if they capped it. It would remove the chess match of team composition.
Lets be honest, you don't ever know what type of team you will face and discussing as a team on the fly what adjustments to make is part of the fun.
Those critical mid match "coaching decisions" to replace for example Pharah with a second Widowmaker because they went double turrets. All game your team couldn't find a answer, then this move was put in place, creating the perfect counter. Setting up a last minute push to take round to overtime, ending with a huge win.
Its the strategy element I love just as much as the gameplay!

I am 100% for the limit of 1 character per team. There are 21 heroes for crying out loud, it really shouldn't be hard to find a unique team of 6 out of 21 to play as. It would be different if there were only 10 heroes or 9 like in TF2 but with 21......c'mon.Comment

I'm assuming they will eventually release a mode like this. I have a hard time thinking "ranked" play will go this direction, as the freedom of team composition was sort of a point they emphasized.

Yeah...it's quite satisfying when the other team switches to all Tracers and they can't get anywhere. So they switch to all Pharahs and they can't get anywhere.
The only one-hero team I've seen that's OP is Soldier76...look up some of the videos by JackFrags or Matimi0...but even then, they can be beat if there is a coordinated attack.

I hate all Reapers and all Soldiers. Only thing that was worse was playing a team of 3 bastions and 3 torbs on defense.
But I dont support the 1 hero cap.
