Re: Overwatch
I used Pharah first as she had a powerful attack and is pretty easy to get the hang of. Really I think Tracer is probably the easiest as she had the least complicated controls/moves. Try 'em all in the practice range. That's what I did.
I suck at shooters and MP games in general but this game is a blast. Glad I took a chance on it.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: Overwatch
A nice tip I can give is keep kill cams on. Not only can it give tactical advantage as to where the enemy team is set up or going but you also can see the ultimate charge of the player that kills you.
Its a very big tactical advantage.

Re: Overwatch
I guess, going strictly by the definition of "overpowered," there are legit counters established in the game for every single hero so you could definitely say no one is OP. The main issue arises when a team just can't communicate who needs to switch to what in order to counter what is going on, and matches basically turn in meat grinders where one team just respawns only to feed the other teams ultimates.
As for Widowmaker, I agree that her bodyshots are a little much sometimes. Especially considering the headshot hitboxes are, well, generous, to say the leastLast edited by The JareBear; 06-10-2016, 12:52 AM."Successful people do not celebrate in the adversity or misfortune of others."

Re: Overwatch
McCree, as he exists right now, is the only one who I feel is OP. And that's going to be remedied very soon (as far as his proficiency against tanks goes).
I think the problem with Widow being able to one-shot Zenyatta lies more WITH Zenyatta - I think 150 HP is too low for him. As for Tracer, well...she has options to pretty much guarantee she'll never get shot by a sniper in the first place, so I don't see why a 1 bodyshot kill is a problem there.Comment

Re: Overwatch
As of right now, I'm pretty solid with all the characters. I play with a new character every round so I'm always switching and changing my play up (Another thing that will give this game legs).
On the surface I think Reinhardt appears very easy to play......"Just hold the shield up to block incoming fire", but once you start getting better with him there is a lot of strategy to him also.
He is slowly becoming my favorite character to use, IF I have a team which knows how to utilize his shield properly. There is few things less frustrating than seeing a Pharah, McCree, 76, or anyone with a weapon that has decent range run right through your shield to get in front of you, just to get slaughtered. WHY!!!! Why are you not staying behind the shield dealing damage as we push forward?!?! Drives me bonkers!
Now if my team utilizes the shield properly, its pretty easy to get the upper hand. The critical thing with Reinhardt that takes practice is timing, most of his moves require you know know when to use them. I see guys all the time with Reinhardt's just charge out the blue for no reason, taking themselves out of position, eating 3 or 4 characters fire, and being taken down quickly. This then leaves their team without a shield and short handed.
Here is some tips I've learned
1) Fire Strike - This special has a lot of range which new Reinhardt players fail to recognize. It deals very good damage and is a nice setup move to kill characters with one hammer strike. Another key thing with this move, attack opponent Reinhardt's holding their shield up, most people don't realize it pierces his shield.
2) Charge - Don't use the charge on single enemies unless they are completely alone with no support. Instead wait for enemies to clump up, hit with fire strike to cause damage, then smash the charge up the middle throwing enemies all over, follow up with hammer strikes. Another nice move, use your shield to eat up incoming rounds, moment opponent attempts to reload, catch them off guard by slamming them into wall.
3) Earth Shatter - Don't horde his special ability waiting for the perfect moment. If enemies are in front you, knock anyone down in front you, throw your fire strike at the down enemies, follow up with a strike or two while they are getting to feet, finally end it with a charge. If you team is dealing damage also, its not hard to get a team wipe.
4) Shield - Holding your shield out does not drain anything, so you can hold it indefinitely, but don't make the mistake of holding it until it breaks. If your shield is broken by enemy fire, the cool down for it to recharge is longer. Always make sure you are absorbing all damage your teams way BUT notify your team when the shield is coming down. This will allow everyone to find cover while you allow your shield to regen, thus getting the shield back up on the front lines as fast as possible.
5) Communication - Reinhardt is one of those characters where communication with your team helps greatly. He is absorbing most the damage and looking through the shield you should be calling out where targets are, what character it is, and what they appear to be doing. Make sure to tell your team mates to stay behind your shield, alert them when your shield is about to be taken down, and when to "release the hounds" & tell everyone to rush for the attack.
Nothing ground breaking, but your key practice point should be the timing of your moves to maximize the damage Reinhardt can dish out and the chaos he can cause. Just remember above everything else, soak up every last drop of DPS you can from the opposing team.Last edited by Phobia; 06-10-2016, 10:01 AM.Comment

I really think in the end there isn't really any OP character. ANY character in the right hands is deadly. I used to be scared of Gengi, but he's really not that hard to deal with. I just hate Tornbjorn because he's just too cheesy, and players will even take him on offense trying to get cheap eliminations which does not help the team. I would be 100% fine if they removed him from the game and force players to at least grab a healer or something productive.
And I confess when I first got the game I played him a lot, because I didn't know better. Now he just bores me.PSN: JISTIC_OS

Re: Overwatch
I agree Jistic on Torjborn. I think his turret should be nerfed by either making it easier to destroy or the damage reduced.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.

Re: Overwatch
Absolutely!!! No friendly fire exists in the game in any fashion. You can fire any projectile through a friendly and connect with an enemy. That goes for the physical character and the shield.Comment
