Game was fine for me (PS4) Yes there are some times where frame rate dropped when there were tons of explosions etc.. but it was far from a disaster IMO.
It only chugged a couple times that I remember that were really bad.

Game was really a fun, turn brain off and destroy stuff game

Purchased the PS4 version before work today for $24 GCU after trading in Doom for $29.70 GCU. I already installed the game and downloaded the current patch so once I finish dinner, I'll start the game. Hopefully, it keeps me busy for two weeks while awaiting E3.

Few problems here other than when my install went FUBAR, but a 980Ti tends to get past a lot of those issues (also no problems w/ Batman which was so bad they stopped sales...)

At 25 or so hours played I think.

Thinking of purchasing this game on PS4 as it's quite cheap now. Could someone tell me if there is still a big problem with the frame rate which I read they had problems with.

The only thing at the moment that makes me not want to spend the money but if it's not a huge frame rate problem then I won't mind.

Traded in the game yesterday for a few reasons -

1. The gear mods being locked behind challenges and completing those challenges. This completely turned me off especially since I love all the RPG elements in games like upgrading, etc. But there was no way im going through all those challenges just to acquire gear mods which in turn allows me to upgrade everything.

2. The controls (and lack of a proper tutorial) and camera doesn't help at times. Really wish developers put a little more time into the controls and camera. And stop making the camera up the character's *** all the time. Seriously, move the camera back. UGH.

3. No mini-map or at least I didn't have on in the beginning of the game.

Aside from those complaints, I played for about two hours and was actually enjoying the game until I came across needing to complete challenges in order to upgrade. Visually, game looks great, lively, colorful and vibrant. The explosions are the best that I have seen this gen alongside Mad Max (which makes sense since it's the same developer). Love the fire and black smoke. Looks awesome.

Blowing up and destroying stuff was a blast for the little time I played the game. Some slowdown and frame rate problems when there's a lot of explosions on screen but not to where I wanted to stop playing or anything like that. Basically, a minor annoyance at times.

May go back to this game later this year if im bored and have nothing else to play but right now, I just don't have the patience to go through those challenges.

What platform? As others have said, it's fine on PS4. I've been playing this for an hour or two at a time recently. It's the popcorn flick of video games. Turn off the brain, turn on the music, and have fun.

I'll get it sooner or later for the PS4. Hopefully it performs well enough for me to enjoy it. Would love to fly over the beautiful country for a while. Will also drive some vehicles and explore.

Looks like JC3's AI drivers are just terrible. Not sure if the developers tried to make it more realistic or it's just bad programming. It seems like it's never boring on the road, and you need to be alert. Might get this game with another price drop.

I picked up the XL Edition last night for $21 during MS' spring sale. I loved JC2, the game was so much fun. Despite the issues I read about in JC3 I think it'll be well worth the $21. Excited to give it a first play tonight.

Great game if there aren't any performance issues. After patches it was nearly unplayable on PC even with a 980ti. Now that I have my 1080 I'll have to give it another shot and see if it's any better.

JC2 was such a fun game, and I don't remember it having major performance issues (played it on the PS3). I had high hopes for JC3, but I decided not to touch it, not willing to pay money for the lack of support. I'm not sure I would even want it inside my PS4 with all these issues.

If they ever create JC4, it will have to run as smooth as can be, in order for me to even consider buying it. And I hope many other people feel this way. The developer needs to get burned hard after this one.
