Edit: Well, after being bodied a lot in casual matches, i decided to try my luck and played 2 ranked matches.



My winning streak is at 9 now, a new record.

Hit my 100th ranked match victory the other night. Despite having more games played under my belt in USFIV, I only hit about 93 in that game. Off to a way better start in SFV. WAR Laura.

Karin is ok, she doesn't have tools for the long range game, she only gets super annoying when the V-trigger is activated (and it doesn't last long) and most Karin players fall for the throws if you mix up.



My problem is dealing with a good Cammy and a good Chun.



It's extremely hard to find an opening against these two, especially Cammy.

Good Chun's can be a handful. In terms of most frustrating characters for me to fight it's Karin, Nash, Rashid and Cammy.

Yeah, they're the fastest characters. I'm used to fast paced fighting games (i grew up playing The King of Fighters), but in SFV, some characters are really faster than others, and sometimes, you don't have the right tools to slow down the pace of the fight.



I play as Ryu (because he plays almost like in Third Strike) and it is complicated to fight Rashid, Nash and Cammy sometimes. You can make use of Ryu's v-skill (the parry) to slow them down (especially to punish cross-ups), but lots of Ryu's moves have slow recovery, so you need to be almost perfect in your reads.



You're playing as Laura, right? I've played her a little bit, i like some of her moves, especially her v-skill (not only she has a good kick, but it also works as an "in and out, in and out" tool, perfect for her command grabs). But i really feel like she has a lot of bad matchups.

Yeah, I'm a Laura guy. And I agree, she has a lot of tough match ups. She's no scrub, though. We've been this far together, so we're going to keep on trucking.

****, knowing me I'll drop a few later and be right back down there with him lol. Bronze/Super Bronze is such a crap shoot as far as the type of players you'll go against. I see everything form bums to killers.

The TE2+ was totally worth the investment for me. I execute better than a pad and it's just a lot more fun playing with one.

As a Cammy player, her biggest weakness IMO is her lack of an overhead to open up an opponent's defense. The best she can do is jump in (usually suicide) or cross up with Hooligan or V-skill. She must knock you down to get any kind of mixup game going, and then it gets fun with hooligans, meaty jumpins, etc.

Also, spiral arrow isn't a low anymore - no need to crouch-block.
