Mostly WTF, but at least it had a little more melody than the previous 2 WTF's

Thank GOODNESS there was no minimum # of stars needed to "pass" the show (or if there was, it was only 3 stars/song). Because if I had to play that setlist again...I would just have never completed career mode instead.

Even though it was very late, I still had to play a Bon Jovi/Poison combo to get the bad taste out of my mouth before going to bed. I hate pre-chosen setlists.

Green Day is apparently working for people who had the Plus version of the game or whose preorder bonus was an export code? They're working on sorting out people who exported from non-Plus versions of the game.

Apparently the RB1 export is finally, finally up for them if they go through the Playstation web store.

Mad Catz posted a huge loss, still has over $8m in Rock Band-related inventory it needs to sell by September.

Its agreement with Harmonix means it has only until 6th September - the end of a "120-day wind-down period" - to sell off its stock. After that, presumably, it no longer has license to sell the goods. There's no word on what will happen then, but it may be we're looking at an E.T. game situation.

So funny. Sitting all on those instruments yet there was no way for me to buy a stand alone guitar at launch. This is what they get for trying to force the band in a box bundle on to people.

I'd have to double-check to confirm but I'm pretty sure they've said in the past that the BIAB bundle sold pretty well, surprisingly. It was the guitar/game package they got killed on by GH: Live.

You're right on no standalone guitars at launch though.

June update came out today, includes practice mode and other fixes. Monthly patches now on hold until fall expansion.

Expansion is called Rock Band Rivals, and will cost $30. No other details about it were given today.

Rivals expansion details: Two big modes are Rivals mode and a Behind the Music-style "Rockudrama" campaign. Coming October.

Rivals Mode is your way to start the competition. You’ll be joining a Crew with your best friends and competing against rival Crews through asynchronous online weekly challenges and leaderboards. No matter what feature you’re playing (Quickplay, Rockudrama, or Shows), you’ll be contributing to your Crew’s progress. If you’re one of the best players around, you’ll be a highly sought-after addition to any Crew. If you tend to stick to lower difficulties, there will be ways you can contribute to your Crew’s success as well! There’s more to come about Rivals Mode next month.
