Its the best thing I ever did. I made my $30 back after having for a few days.


Best thing is that I preordered NBA 2k16 Jordan Edition and with 20% off, instead of costing $70 it will cost around $56 or thereabouts. Plus I'll have $15 in reward certificates between now and then, so now the game is $41.

Yep I just have to pay 8.00 when I go pick my Madden up after applying my certificate points I've saved up..
Just wish I was off work Wednesday lol

Anyone else's Best Buy not take the GCU discount off when pre-ordering a game? Meaning if you wanted to pay a game off in full they require $59.99 + tax, then give the discount back on a gift card when picking a game up.

I live in NY. For me, a $60 game would be $48 plus tax which totals $52.25. When I pre-order a game in store with cash, I just pay them $52.25 and that's it. In other words, check Best Buy online and see what the total is including tax for where you live and that's what you pay them in store.

Ok, the store you do business with does not require the full $59.99 + tax if one chooses to pay a pre-order off in full.

Mine does for some reason and I that that odd.

Ok, the Best Buy you do business with does not require the full $59.99 + tax of one chooses to pay a pre-order off in full.

None of them require more than a $5 deposit. If you ask to pay in full then they'll charge you the $60. But if you just put the $48 plus tax on there, it will show up as paid in full when you pick it up, but won't technically be paid in full until then.

But why? Why won't the system recognize me as a GCU member during the pre-order process. Would make more sense to take the discount off from the jump.

I didn't have this problem when I preordered madden16, battlefront, and MGSV.

When you pre-order online it takes the GCU discount off immediately.

A gift card? Hell no. That's not right at all. You shouldn't be forced to spend the difference in their store. That sounds like something GS would do.

Is this over the week? Might have to drop a few things off this week at lunch someday. Just beat Far Cry 4 and not really going to be that into completing everything. Just no time for that now, when I could be playing a fun story mode of something else.

Just caved and picked this up. Especially with me going down to part time, saving on my game purchases will make a big difference.

The GCU is linked to my phone number / account right?

I got this, I managed to preorder Madden even though they took down the preorder passes, I saw one by the checkout counter and asked and the guy said "it's not out yet so it's okay I guess" and I'll be getting my $10 cert!

Really makes a difference when you essentially are getting games for $38 dollars versus $60 without accounting for trade ins.

Not a fan of BB, but with them being almost across the street from my work, it's hard for me to not justify this, except it means that my midnight release visits go down to zero, I don't want to drive three towns over at midnight for a game. [That or if it's a game I want to goto a midnight and don't want to drive that way, I can just goto the Gamestop down the street I guess].
