Man I talked my bestbuy up so good a few posts ago they had to go and totally screw up this time...

Took about 15 min longer than it should have abd they couldn't process the $5 reward cert I literally redeemed as he was ringing me up.

To their defense the cert showed as expired on the 13th unexplainably,which was 2 days ago. A fiasco nonetheless and by far the most difficult experience I've had here.

I used to go to the Best Buy in downtown chicago (John Hancock building). It was the worse experience. They required you to bring a ID and a passport in order to trade in games. Too many times it took me over an hour to trade in or get my gift card or pick up a preorder. One silver lining, they had a cute store manager who always came to help.

Since I moved, I haven't had any issue with my BB at my new location, but the old store made me miss gamestop.

My Best Buy is good & bad. I went to trade in 2 games in today & it processed pretty quick & received my extra 10% trade in bonus. So I went to get the new Destiny & they couldn't process my 20% off, saying I didnt have Gamers Unlocked which is not true because I just received my 10% from trade in. I was there for like 20 mins before I gave up & just left the game. They couldn't help me & kept trying to push a phone number so I can call Best Buy even though Im at Best Buy....

By the way, If I put the order online I do get the 20% off. lol

It's more the POS system that Best Buy uses as opposed to the people working there. The POS system is exactly that and since it was just changed over a few months ago, it's actually worse and a bigger pain in the ***.

When I buy stuff in store, I always give them my phone number first and that seems to eliminate any possible problems. If I don't, then yeah, sometimes my 20% off or 10% trade in bonus won't register.

If you can order online for pick up or shipping, it's actually pretty quick and easy as long as your "my best buy" account is linked with your GCU membership.

On a related note, I received my points from the Mad Max and MGSV pre-orders and was automatically issued a $25 reward certificate which im annoyed at since I wanted to wait until October but it's okay because the expiration date is November 15th, 2015 and it will be used before then. For those who are still waiting, be patient and it should be getting processed and added to your account by week's end.

Correct. You can save yourself a lot of trouble by having your BB Rewards Card with you and have them scan it first before doing anything.

And just remember when you do online for instore pickup you still get the BBY01 order number which makes it much more cumbersome and time consuming to do any price adjusting.

I pre-ordered three games in November not realizing they all come out on back-to-back-to-back weeks. Going to be a busy month but at least I'll be racking up the rewards certificates. Plus 2k coming out this Friday!

I see the price for FIFA 15 trade in is $3 now. Are any trade in towards FIFA 16 still going?

Might have to wait until Black Friday week to get FIFA for $30 if not.

Target is offering $30 trade in for current gen and $20 for last gen through the end of the week I think if you missed the Best Buy deal.

$17 for me. 2 $10 rewards and then I got a random $10 off coupon in the mail via postcard (birthday month or luck?). Can't go wrong.

With a baby at home and no time to game, there's NO WAY I would be getting all these games if it weren't for this club. Now I'll use my $10 preorder certificate towards the Uncharted trilogy and pay $37 for my favorite series south of Metal Gear.

Every day is Black Friday with GCU ... just no lines.

So I just singed up a few days ago and order NBA 2k16. I didn't know about this thing in till like earlier this year and I used to always get stuff off amazon. Amazon I still use but it is not has good has it used to be for sever reason.


1. Amazon used to not charge tax now they do. I know it was not there fault but still now with amazon having to charging tax in less I do free shipping a $60 game with shipping and tax is going to cost more then if I just buy it in a story with out having to pay for shipping. Also I live in a small town and no places sale new games any more and the best buy that is closet to me in the next town is about 25 minutes from my house and I am like half way between my town and the next town or it would be a little farther. So it used to cost me the same with amazon but didn't have to make a 25 minute drive.


2. While not ever game amazon used to give like 10-15 sometimes 20 credit towards your next game. So it was kind of like best buy thing only with best buy it is ever new game not some games and you get points and amazon doesn't do the points thing and it looks like they stopped doing the credit thing on amazon has I have not seen that in a long time. With it only costing 30 for 2 years with best buy if you buy a new 60 game then after just 3 games you will have already saved 6. To buy 3 games in 2 years is nothing and that doesn't even count the points thing.
