    Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda

If only the game had official mod support. Mass Effect is a franchise that could have a large modding community. Mod tools do wonders for Bethesda RPG's and keep people talking and interested for years and years. It's a dedicated community, so there will be some mods, but very limited just like with Inquisition.

Horizon, TW3, and others may have lip-syncing issues too, but they still convey emotion much better, despite "dead eyes", with more head and eye brow movement. Even ME1 from 2007 is better in this regard. Inquisition another game that uses Frostbite is better and has a way more robust character creator too, so there's even more their animation rigging had to account for in that game.

Combat and multiplayer look good, but everything else I've seen has made it easy for me to just wait to play it when it goes on sale.

      Re: Mass Effect: Andromeda

I'm so glad that I learned long ago to not let the gaming community at large bother me. The hive mind is so hilariously ridiculous for this game that it's bordering on entertaining. Almost all of the negatives I'm reading are similar issues to what you would see in other high profile games (TW3 for example, which I also loved), yet for this game, people are treating them as game killers.

It's too bad that people with positive first impressions (which there are a large number of) are being completely drowned out by the masses that, for the most part, likely haven't even played the game and are actively hoping the game fails. Such is the online gaming community I guess, one of the most toxic communities I've ever seen.

Am I expecting perfection? Absolutely not. Like many other large, open world games, this game will have a number of technical issues. That never stopped me from playing the hell out of games like Skyrim, Fallout, TW3, etc. As long as the story is engrossing (to be seen) and the gameplay and customization are solid (which both look to be), I know I'll be happy. I enjoyed the hell out the Dragon Age series, and those are known for subpar graphics and a bevy of technical issues.

My Man. Yeah, on GAF there are numerous threads related to perceived issues with the game and only one talking about the positive impressions.

I can't remember the last time I was this excited for the multiplayer component of an open world RPG. I know you have a crew you run with but let me know if you ever need a fill in

I've actually lost most of my normal crew during the week due to them moving to different shifts at work, so if I'm on between 8-10pm or so during the week, shoot me an invite. Same goes for the weekends, I'm usually on till midnight or so EST. The MP looks fantastic from what I've seen.

Playing on the Xbox something that help me was changing the control scheme from Default to Gladiator. "X" and "B" switched functions with B being reload now and X being used for climbing. Those two aren't that important, but "A" being used now to open things, and "Y" being the jet-pack, is way, way more comfortable and intuitive for me.

This game doesn't even work on my PC at all with my GTX 1080. All it does is restart my entire PC. Chatting with EA Customer service is.......well you better grab some popcorn because you will be chatting for a while and that is after you wait for a while. But a few hours later.......apparently it is a known issue for the PC version for Pascal graphics cards.

What's everyone planning on doing skill wise? I know that you can try a larger variety of skills in this game, but I'm going full biotic in Andromeda. I never got around to that style of playthrough in the original trilogy, and the biotic powers look incredible in this game.

I was the same way. Never really used biotic or tech characters in the original. I fully plan to take advantage of profiles and run with different build depending on my mood/mission. I know the game is getting beat up a bit right now, but my time playing it has me super excited for it.

I'm still all in. The common drawbacks people are upset about are frankly issues that won't bother me as much as most. As long as I'm getting a solid Mass Effect worthy story, some good world building, and improved combat (which seems like a big yes), I'll be happy. The multi-player is the cherry on top as I never dabbled in ME3's MP, and it looks really fun in this installment.

I haven't got the prompt at the start of the game telling me how many hours I have remaining like other EA Access games Ive played, did you or anyone else get that prompt for this game?

Nope, I was literally scanning all the planets/systems when the screen went black and I got a prompt that my trial was over. Wonder where my last save point will be on Tuesday.
