It auto covers whenever you are behind something. Takes a while to get used to and I still prefer the click to cover mechanics like in the Division, but the more I use it, the better it feels.

        My impressions so far:
It's a fun game, especially to play with friends. By itself it's not a bad game. It's actually pretty enjoyable. Maybe a 7-7.5/10.

However, as a Ghost Recon game, it's kind of a disappointment. Squad AI is next to useless. Enemy AI isn't much better. There's health regeneration and it takes far too many shots for the enemy AI to knock you down/kill you. In many ways, it doesn't feel like Ghost Recon. So as a Ghost Recon game, it's probably a 5/10.

Things could change by the time it comes out of course, (granted that's only two weeks away) but we'll see.

Note: These impressions are from playing on the game's hardest difficulty.

The controls are so much better for driving in the open beta versus closed it's unreal, almost like a different game.

I still suck at piloting the chopper, straight up ran it into a cliff last night and was like "welp, guess we're going to have to steal a car now"

Yeah, I agree, I love the game, especially now that I'm seeing it in 4K...but it's not Ghost Recon.

Let's all start calling it Far Cry Bolivia, LOL

The DOF in first person gunplay is shockingly bad.

I completely agree with you but let's be honest, there's no actual cover system, no stealth kills (you only knock them out which I hate), no knife (wtf???) and im sure that the "tactical" aspect is lacking to most. Would it really matter if controlling a helicopter was less realistic but controlled better and was more fun to do?

I care about camera and controls. These both especially combined can literally make a fun game become aggravating, frustrating and annoying. And at the very least, having an "arcade/simulation" option for flying the helicopter would have been a great idea.

I just want to say that the game isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. Was expecting more refinement coming off The Division. Some aspects just don't make any sense considering that it's meant to be a stealth tactical shooter.

With that said, I will be playing it for the entire weekend as outside of those few complaints, this game is easily for me and what I prefer in my open world games.

So question for those who have played more...

I like the "over the shoulder" view when shooting, but I cannot figure out how to change shoulders. I have a right handed character but she keeps aiming off her left shoulder and it drives me nuts.

In the division I believe you clicked in one of the sticks but I tried that to no avail.

Nothing like being shot to death by drug lords when you're trying to change shoulders your gun is on like a douchebag.

Hold down L2/LT and then press R1/RB. That should switch the shoulder from what I have read.

I didn't play the closed beta so last night was the first time playing the game for me. I had no problems whatsoever flying the choppers. Was landing them right where I wanted and everything.

To me, the controls are already pretty simple. LT, RT and left stick. Just stating my experience.

                              Re: Ghost Recon Wildlands

After playing another four hours, I have a few tidbits...

                              1. I did fly a helicopter two more times and im getting better at flying the damn thing so it was just me. LOL.

                              2. I love the sync shot. It's basically Splinter Cell Conviction's/Blacklist's mark and execute feature but with you and the AI team mates only being able to take one shot each. Bad thing is that no matter how far they are, they never miss and im pretty sure that their shots go through solid walls.

                              3. I have learned how to make the cover system better and have my character face the direction that I want him to face. In cover, simply press R1/RB and you'll face in the opposite direction. This helped me out a few times today. R1/RB will also swap shoulder perspective in general when walking around. When aiming, R1/RB will swap to the other shoulder perspective.

                              4. Map is HUGE and it's only the first region. March and April is going to be one hell of a huge open world fiesta with Horizon, GRW and possibly SGW3. Can't wait to see the other areas eventually.

                              5. The AI team mates are actually pretty good. When im detected, I tell them to attack and help me a lot by mowing down enemies. I do keep them back early on when im using stealth though as I don't want them in my way.

Pre-ordering the game next Thursday and will pick up on release day. Horizon, GRW and possibly Switch in an eight day span. It's nuts.

All Ubisoft has to do is add in a kick *** knife and stealth kills and I'll be one very happy Ghost. LOL.
