    Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

I'd try it if I wasn't so backlogged. I don't think I'm going to get any new games for a while; I'd rather finish the ones I paid full price for.

Well, maybe except No Man's Sky. Not because I don't want to finish it, but because it would take forever to actually finish.

Anyway, since the Pro I've been a bit of a 60 FPS nut, looking for games that can get up to that framerate if possible. Doesn't look like this game supports that, however it looks gorgeous and it does have some efficient motion blur. $15.99 was the right price, but already sold out... just gives me an excuse to finish my other games first, I guess.

Randomly checked Best buy just now and the deal is available again.

      Amazon also at $20

I bought it with Gamers Club. I want to play through Witcher 3 first. Which might take me a full year or more. But I figure HZD at $18 is the least expensive it'll be for a long time anyway.

I'll worry about the expansion in the future when it's probably on sale for $10 or something.

        Re: Horizon: Zero Dawn

I purchased this when it released and have played off and on since then with breaks in between for a variety of reasons. I finally finished it up today at level 40, with 40 hours ish in.

What an awesome and beautiful ride on the PS4 Pro. The ancient armor kind of made the last few parts of the game too easy, but that's okay. I enjoyed getting the story and not dying.

I may wait a while and let things marinate before going back in with the DLC and trying to finish up some other stuff. I'm just happy to check this one off my backlog, but also glad I didn't rush it.

It's somewhere in the Top 3 this gen for me in the story/rpg category. I would say The Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Uncharted 4. Exclusives like this are a big part of why I'll continue to be mostly a PlayStation gamer.. games come before graphics.

After playing it, it's kind of pricey for the dlc. I freaking love it, but its not cheap.

Figured I'd add I picked up all the bluegleam on the map and was 4 short of being able to buy all the new gear.

Also, this just happened. Not sure if the fire bear robot thing is really fast or if this was glitch.

If there is one game to make an exception to buy even with a massive back log....HZD is the one. I loved this game and will start the DLC ASAP.

I am knee deep in the Witcher 3 but the DLC will be a nice breather from time to time.

This is the GOTY hands down no question.

The only thing negative I've seen posted is it gets repetitive and a "bore" later on.
                Is that true or not??

I love the deep powder snow. It's cool to track in the snow or look at fresh powder all tore up from a recent battle.

Mmm it can if you let it. But I really got deep into the story and lore and the world itself. The game is simply gorgeous on 4K Ultra HD with HDR.

It does get a little repetitive like all games do that are this large, but I simply got creative of how I took down machines and really stretched out all the weapons at my disposal so I did not get bored taking the same approach over and over.

The key with these games is the depth of the story. If you are invested in the story the game flies by.

All of them are really fun and different. Great boss battles at the end of all of them.

So I finally downloaded the DLC and was confused on how to access the DLC after downloading it. Looks like you have to get to a spot on the map to play it. This is a big disappointment. I thought there would be a option from the main menu to play it. I just had started new game + not long ago and am not that far into the game. So now I guess I have to get a lot farther into the game to be able to play it has right now I am to early in the game to get to that spot of the map. Really big designer flaw it is and makes me pretty mad.
