Best Buy will have it for $30, Wal-Mart at $35, and everywhere else at $40.

Re: Mafia 3
Wonder if that'll be online too? I was getting to a point where I was gonna pass but if it's 30 bucks and I've got 20 bucks worth of reward certificates it seems like a no brainer.
The gameplay footage looks fun on YouTube but the game isn't rated well on metacritic, GameStop etc. what might I be missing?
Looking at getting Watch Dogs 2 also. Finally throwing in the towel on sports gaming lol

Re: Mafia 3
If you want to play Mafia 3 I would do it before playing Watch Dogs 2. No contest between the two.
Mafia 3 feels dated all around. I don't think its as bad as its reputation as it has a handful of things it does really well, but parts of the gameplay feels underdeveloped.

That's the sentiment I get from reading reviews. But for 10 bucks, I'm game. Ha

Re: Mafia 3
I got it from Amazon on Day One. I don't regret it or think I wasted money, but the open world is lacking. The story line and side missions for the side characters are great, though.

Re: Mafia 3
Not sure if this is posted and will post in deals thread. Target had the original game for 29.99 BUT it also rings up the delux with the season pass for 29.99. Picked it up this morning.
Figured at that price it was worth a shot.

Mafia 3
Since Amazon had it for the same price as Best Buy I ordered it from them. Had $100 gift card to use. Should be on my doorstep when we get home today!!

Re: Mafia 3
I just beat this game after 31 hours. I absolutely loved the map. The blur and washed out colours were annoying, but I got used to them. The AI is a joke, but I was able to look past it(I know other's can't and understand completely). I like that they tried to give us more side stuff to do, but it still wasn't that great.
This game is more of a GTA IV than it is a GTA San Andreas. It's a serious tone, each mission is serious(besides the Olivia/Remy drink scene, and the side missions all take serious tones. To me, that's okay. I played this for the story and it delivered. The downside to taking yourself so seriously is that each mission and activity basically turns into drive here, kill some men, take out the main target. That's GTA IV in a nutshell and that's Mafia 3 in a nutshell.
If you prefer a GTA San Andreas or Vice City(to an extent) type of game where it has both serious parts and funny parts that offer tons of side content and variety in the missions and activities, then you might want to get this game cheap or just pass on it. I personally just love an open world game if the story is done well and the world is done well. Add in a great atmosphere and I'm happy. This game delivered on those fronts. The soundtrack is great, I like the era, New Bordeaux is such a well done map. Parts of the rural areas look just like the countryside I've grown up and spent my whole life around. The architecture, layout, etc. is all just done well. The textures can be muddy and the lighting is questionably, mostly at daytime. The night lighting is great.
Though I did like the game a lot and will probably replay it again like I did the previous games, I think they needed to let loose some. It doesn't need to be Saints Row crazy, but I'd like to see a lot more side content that isn't so serious. Simple things like races with the muscle cars would've been a start. Mini-games would've been nice. Make drug running more hands on and not just get this boat here and drive this truck there.
Fortunately for me a good story can carry a game far. That is why I enjoyed it, but I still think they would've been better off offering more "fun" side activities over what have to offer in game at the moment. With all that said, I am excited for future DLC and hope that we get to see more of Donovan. His story and character is perfect for them opening the game up more for more fun and variety.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Mafia 3
I've been primarily a sports gamer for the majority of my life so a lot of stuff isn't that deep to me. I'm still VERY early in the story (just got done with the boat escape) but I'm enjoying it a lot. I love games where you have the option of going in guns blazing or you can use stealth tactics as well.

Re: Mafia 3
I like games with a cover system as opposed to just standing behind stuff with no way to see what's going on without exposing yourself

Re: Mafia 3
This game has a nice cover system. It's simple, but effective. It animates well as do most things. This game just seems like one that was rushed to release for some reason. My best guess is the publisher pushed them to release. I'd rate it a 7/10 simply because of the lack of variety in missions/activities and the AI. As amazing as the story, cut scenes, and soundtrack are, the AI is as equally as bad. It's a shame. I still really enjoyed the game and think New Bordeaux is one of my favorite maps in a game.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
