Mafia 2 had such a living world, great attention to details!

        Re: Mafia 3

Re-installed Mafia 3 last night. Just wanted to wander the streets again, enjoy the sight and sounds of this beautiful world again. May replay it at some point, really missed this open world, even if repetitive.

Love those cars! If only there was a better damage model.

I wish I could take the setting of New Bordeaux and give it the liveliness and treatment of a Rockstar game combined with what Ubisoft did so well in Watch_Dogs 1 & 2. I love the setting and the map of New Bordeaux, but the world does not live and breathe like the other games mentioned.

            Re: Mafia 3

I never finished this game as it got put on the back burner and forgotten about. For whatever reason, I decided over the weekend that I would pick it back up.

But since it had been a while, I deleted everything and started from scratch.

Hopefully I can get through it this time.

I need to finish it as well. 1 thing I hate to do in games is drive and I feel like you do a lot of that in this game. That's part of the reason I never finish any GTA games. I don't mind riding a horse or motorcycle or even walking which is weird.

One thing I would recommend since the story is better then the gameplay is lower the difficulty. The gameplay I thought was fine it was just repetitive. That might not be a issue if you never die, but for me that helped. This way you get to finish the game and see how the story ends and can move on to other games.

I would definitely be interested in a Mafia 2 remaster. I don't see the point about Mafia 3 though. It wasn't that well received enough a game to get a definitive edition. Since it is a current gen game and only 3 and half years old, you'll pretty much get the same experience unless it is intended for next gen.
There is rumors about a Mafia 4. So just like rumors about Saints Row 5, remasters are a way to gauge interest.

Like illwill said, Mafia 3 remaster doesn't make much if any sense. I played it a few months after launch and gave it an 8/10. Really enjoyed it but it should have stayed linear. Open world hurt the game more than helped it. Mafia 2 makes sense since it's like a 10 year old game.

A Mafia 3 with NPC A.I./interaction and enemy A.I. at least on par with watchdogs 2 would be worth another look. A.I. was that game's biggest flaw...
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Unless Mafia 3 edition is slated for next gen, it won't be a remaster since it a 3 year old current gen game. Improved AI would be welcome.
Definitely Mafia 2 since it has been over 10 years. I liked Mafia 3, but even next year feels too soon unless it fixes core issues. I would definitely get a remastered Mafia 2 for PS5(already sold PS4).

I hated Watch Dogs 2 and literally rushed through the story. Barely did anything else in the game. I don't even consider it a "completed" game on my gaming lists because I rushed through it. Only reason I played it was because with Legion coming out, I didn't want to have to go back and play WD 2 since I know I would get the feeling of wanting to play it before Legion. I played it on easy so I can't comment on the enemy AI but I do agree that it was a flaw in Mafia 3. I would put the bugs, glitches and horrible skybox as the biggest flaw followed by the open world aspect. But enemy AI is definitely up there.

Yeah, thinking maybe Mafia 3 definitive edition just includes all the DLC and the latest patch. Mafia 2 was great back then. If anything, im hoping that this implies that we're getting a Mafia IV for next gen.

Yeah, there have been rumors about Mafia IV. I believe the 2k studios Hangar 13 developed previous one and how they were rumors that it was in works. Initially I was surprised/doubtful about Mafia IV, because I wasn't sure if they were done with it and if there was a WANT for another game. While I enjoyed Mafia 3, It wasn't that well received for a new edition. But even with all DLC and latest patch, I don't know if I'm that interested in going back to Mafia 3 until a few years.

Yeah if those games did get rated, I don't think it's for nothing. Something will come out of it. Unless it is a "classic" game, companies don't produce remasters or newer versions just for a cash grab. Its all for a reason(plus cash grab). I do think there is a strong chance for Mafia IV and it'll most likely be the final game. I can see it going the Chicago theme this time around.
