https://segmentnext.com/2019/09/24/t...-2-remastered/I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Mafia 3
I understand the feeling a lot of people had regarding the under-utilization of the open world. Basically it felt more like a backdrop to drive through than anything on the level of GTA or other games with open maps. If you were able to get over that then there was a very enjoyable narrative to play through.

For me, I have never felt like every game has to be open world. This one gave me enough freedom to look around a little and explore, but gave me enough guidance where I wasn’t sent to do random stuff all the time.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
If true, it would be great, but I would wait and see before setting any expectations at all.
Some bad decisions were made with Mafia 3 and as far as I know original developer had to give it up due to taking too long to make it. And H13 didn't do well afterwards. Hopefully T2 is more patient this time around...but it's been only 3 years...
I ended up giving M3 another chance and finished it. The city was great with every area you would expect (downtown, multiple residential areas, port, industrial, malls, shops, somewhat-countryside etc...), they did a great job on it.
Story was great on its own, but not for a Mafia game, imo. Gmeplay was repetitive but ok.
Overall it lacked the extra touch that made the first 2 games special. So if there is a M4 (which was cancelled a while ago), it would have to be special. My Specs:

Re: Mafia 3
If it’s true a 4th game is being made they either need to nail the open world or go linear like uncharted. You could set yourself up and be different telling a similar great story. If your not going to take the time to make the open world really matter just don’t put it in the game.
Their is a YouTube channel called “tripleA digest “ that did several speculation videos on this subject.Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense

Re: Mafia 3
Mafia III was a great 8.0/10 game for me but it's one of those games that should NOT be open world because it doesn't fit what the game is and only hurts it. Hoping Mafia IV is wide linear at most where you can drive from location to location ala Mafia II but without any side content. Just give me the 50+ missions for the story and let me go from location to location. The game would be amazing if it's more linear and without any of the padding and other crap.Comment

Re: Mafia 3
They certainly nailed the unique look of the city but they failed miserably with the behavior of it's inhabitants. It was a city that felt lifeless even though people were there. No semblance of people going about their lives which is opposite of what we see in watchdogs, GTA or rdr. The devs got robbed of precious development time in order to meet a release window and the game suffered. I think we could have had something special if they had another year..EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.Comment

Anyway, I remember a while ago a rumor about M4 being set in 1970's Vegas. But who knows if there was any truth in that...My Specs:

Re: Mafia 3
Yea, the world lacked plenty of life and content to it, but they nailed the look of a southern city in my mind. I absolutely loved the urban and rural areas equally. That's all I meant. They definitely were not on the level of GTA or Watch Dogs in terms of making the world feel truly alive.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”
