Still waiting for my key, which sucks. Hopefully it comes soon so I can get into this!

The reviews I've read are pretty promising but like it's been said, the mid-game is getting hammered, which is a little concerning, but I can give a pass to Paradox, they usually deliver on their patches in a big way.

Created the "Cartel of the Yellow Sun" a species of "advanced humanoids." We are collectivist and advanced materialist with a science directorate form of government. I'll try to be more imaginative next time, was mostly just looking at the different options

currently at work, but looks like I was able to initiate the download from the Steam mobile app to my desktop at home. It should be ready to go when I get home.

              Re: Stellaris (PC)

Watching some pre-launch gameplay, I was concerned that this game wouldnt look as good as I'd want it to. I feel that GalCiv 3 and the new Master of Orion are fails so far, and was banking on Stellaris being great, but had accepted that the game might not look as good.

I was wrong. The Atmosphere this game creates is like a giant sci-fi orgasm, padon my wording. The music, visuals and general atmosphere and early gameplay as absolutely unreal.

Also read about he mid-game problems, but am confident that Paradox will figure it out.

I personally can't wait for the mods to start rolling out. I hope somebody make a Star Trek mod with Klingons, Romulans, The Borg, The Dominion and Cardasians.

                  Re: Stellaris (PC)

Went home for lunch and played this for a bit. Felt pretty clumsy, need to get better with hotkeys because jumping from system to system felt really clunky.

Otherwise... really love so much about it. Started a 600 planet 'medium' map with 17 empires, 4 with head starts as one of the canned setups (UN).

I hired an Admiral because my fleet didn't have one, next thing I know he's been elected president ... lol.

I like how everything seems to be presumed hostile or we need to research them to really understand what ship/species I encounter (from afar) before really understanding them or not running away by default.

Been playing for about 4 hours, time has flown by. Taking it very slow and cautious at first, have built up some pretty solid resource generation. Upgraded my fleet and am preparing for some aggressive expansion

This is also a decent resource for early game tips, I'm gonna restart When o jump back on in about a hour since I spent a little bit of time playing in the early game. The empty box on the left of the UI sounds like a godsend, because I did get to a point where my science fleets were spread all over the area and I wasn't sure where to try and move on from, I can say that following the tutorial in the early stages is extremely beneficial to get a baseline knowledge of some of the systems at play.

I'll chexk out that link when I turn the game off eventually

I have a noob question, how do I build a spaceport on a new planet?

Says "an initial spaceport module is required" but I honestly don't know what that means or how to get it

Have you sent a settler ship to colonize the planet already? Otherwise they may have a technology you have to research before you can build more space ports, I haven't gotten that far yet.

Yeah I've colonized three planets, have them all running great food/pop wise. Just can't figure out how to build a spaceport on the planets I colonized

I believe you just click the planet, and there is a spaceport tab. you click on one of the weapon type, the click on build. I'm just now getting home and playing, but I think that is how it's done from watching the streams.
