Is there stat tracking that tells you how many out of how many puzzles you have completed? or a play time?

Nope, The only way to find how many you have completed is to press X on the load file on the pause menu.

3.7 gb on 20 meg internet shouldn't be that bad, I don't think. It's a pretty small file size for a game as far as I know.

I'm trying so hard not to break down and look for a guide to help me with a puzzle I'm stuck on. I might ask around here to see if any of you guys have passed the part I'm at. I've been looking at this one for probably 2 hours. Either I'm missing something or it just requires critical thinking beyond my level

I just worry if I use a guide once I'll break down easier and easier and use it more and more.

              Re: The Witness (PS4/PC)

Started playing this this morning and a big fan of it.

I worried a bit that the puzzles would all be the same but then I came across one that completely stumped me and changed my tune.

Thankfully, as others have mentioned, it's okay to skip ahead because you're not really supposed to solve all of the puzzles immediately. You'll enter areas that sort of teach you how to solve the really difficult puzzles.

Won't say it is worth the price tag to everyone. But if you enjoy figuring out puzzles and doing so while walking a beautiful landscape, it's worth the money. Even with knowing how to solve the first difficult puzzle I came across early in the game, I'm dreading how difficult it will be to complete it once I turn back.

Also I like that dread. I want that challenge. If you want that sort of challenge too, pick it up.

Will definitely be picking this up down the road, love, love difficult puzzle games.

Gonna finish fallout 4 and Vanishing of Ethan Carter first.

I can definitely see the slippery slope of using guides.....that what happened to me in Dark Souls 2

Yeah. I took a break and will try again later. If I can't get it by the end of my next session I'm gonna seek help. I wish I could explain what's going on but it's the final puzzle in this area/sequence and would spoil how to handle challenges before it if I brought up why I'm struggling so bad.

On top of exploring the beautiful landscape I really enjoy looking for the narrative of what's going on. I don't think it's just a bunch of random environments, I feel there's some sort of connection between the voice recordings and the environments. I'm keeping track and I can't out any sort of theory down yet but I'm working on it.

They are scattered across the game on the ground. There is one on the roof of the house you come out of at the start of the game. That was the first one I found and introduced me to that aspect of the game. I've found 5 so far and I haven't travelled too far past the opening area, I'm in the sand/excavation site area at the moment. You interact with them by pressing x and "clicking" on it with the cursor you move with the LS

That's what I meant when I asked if Ellen page is the girl on the recording (I've only heard two different voices so far). Sounds like her.

Crap. I saw that and just thought it was part of the environment. Thanks.

You're definitely not the only one. The game literally doesn't tell anything beforehand as far as what to look for and expect.

Is it fair to assume that all puzzles are based on logic or are some by chance?

I ask because I found the tree puzzle (need to choose the right limb) and I want to believe there is some logic to choosing the right one rather than playing a long game of chance but I'm unsure if I'm overanalyzing the puzzle.

Don't want to know the solution. Only want to know if I'm breaking my head for no reason.

There's method to the madness. I'm not sure what would be ok for me to say. There is a way to figure out which limb to move the dot to.

When you figure it out, it's a valuable lesson moving forward. I hope this is cryptic enough
