    Re: The Witness (PS4/PC)

I am shocked over how much I haven't seen or knew existed.

Every journey leads me some where new and with new lessons learned and something else to be stuck on.

I played for an hour or two.

I found an audio tape on the ground in one place and listened to it. This game is just a big ball of WTF.

It seems so quiet in here regarding the game you wouldn't know it sold over 100,000 units and made $5 MM in sales in its first week. Super impressive. I never played Braid but I definitely want to give his first game a try now.

It's interesting reading about this game being more than just solving puzzles and then hearing the audio clips and thinking, "huh?!" Whatever this game is, I don't understand it. Maybe I will pick up on things as I continue through the world.

Most of those audio logs fell flat for me. After getting a few I had no real desire to keep seeking them out if they were all going to be philosophical and politcal quotes.

Yes. I don't seek them out. If they happen to be there, in front of me, I'll play them.

I knocked out the symmetry puzzles and the one where you're in the area where you have to separate the different colors and go to the top of the elevator. I'm at some Tetris looking thing at the moment and it has me feeling dumb as hell right now lmao. I'll figure it out...

I also need to go back to the church looking area where some dude is talking on a screen. Wasn't sure what I had to do to open the door.

Still stuck on these Tetris puzzles. I'm clearly not getting something here.

Sometimes I think I get it and then I get to one on the other side of the island and I realize I haven't fully grasped it.

On the other hand, I think I finally figured out the three pointed shapes. Those really confused me but trial and error in the "lesson" area really opened my eyes.

I moved along. Figured it would click for me if I come back to it later. I ran across the star puzzles and I'm running through these right now. I actually understand what's going on here lol.

I was hesitant to buy this at $40, but this is an extremely well put together game. It's definitely worth the price of admission. It makes you think and it's just beautiful to look at. I think anyone who likes art in the least bit would appreciate it. The color schemes and the way the environments differ from each other so much is just awesome.

I knocked out the Treehouse level. It was nice to get in a zone and get through that area without much issue. I've also figured out what a few of the different shapes mean, so that was helpful. Some of these Tetris puzzles are still getting the best of me, but I'm slowly getting through them.

I'm stuck at what is probably the second to last or final puzzle in about 5 or 6 areas.

Now I'm this sound pitch one and I simply can't figure out the pitch in one of them. It all sounds the same.

I had my girlfriend help me on those.

She's way better at hearing pitches than I am and breezed right through that area.

I wasn't a fan of the Shady Trees section at all. The blue ones were simple and I got through most of the other ones without too much effort. But after a while I just said screw it and looked up the answers for the rest. Didn't even feel like bothering with them.

I also didn't like the ones where you line up branches, but thankfully that didn't last very long. Those are really my only real gripes, to be honest. I love all the block puzzles and even the tetris ones. Those are a lot of fun to work through. My favorite areas that I've completed so far are the Treehouse, Keep and Bunker. I'm currently in the white area next to the Shady Trees puzzles and that seems pretty cool so far too.
