Re: Battlefield 1 (PC, PS4, XBOX One)

I find incendiary grenades are so underrated. I hardly ever see them being used, yet I've continually used them and have had great success. Not only are they brilliant for area denial, especially in CQB situations, but people just simply forget to go prone in the heat of the moment.

Earlier on I managed to get a flank around the other team, lobbed an incendiary grenade over the wall, ended up getting 6 kills.

They are also great for those moments where an enemy suddenly appears and has the drop on you, you can just throw it directly at them and they either die, or retreat and then you have the upper hand and can chase after them and kill them.

Yeah I hear you. I love the class but the people that don't give you a chance to revive them kill the fun.

I am finding a lot of satisfaction with the support class. Still get to help out your team immensely with ammo handouts and I finally found a main weapon that really works for me.

I use incendiary. I got a kill with one a few days ago by throwing it down in hopes of an oncoming vehicle would run it over and it worked. I guess no one knows about the whole stop drop and roll thing. The sound and screams people make are a bit unsettling.

It can be a bit frustrating. I've been revived last second just when I thought I was out of time by simply waiting and being patient. I think some people just have to press something to pass the time and make it feel like they are rushing back into battle.

It's easier with a squad mate because you can just tell them to hang in there. I hate the situations where you go through hell and high water to get to someone only for them to skip it.

I'm liking every class in this game except for Scout. I just don't find Sniping all too helpful for capturing objectives. I know some people are really good at it, but I'd rather be fighting on the front lines. A nice medic rifle with scope can be just as effective in medium to long distances for counter sniping.

I tried to be the scout guy for a couple matches and I just don't think it's in my DNA. I was actively going to new cap points but hanging out about 50m behind my squad trying to pick off enemies. I just can't find that sweet spot for 1 hit kills to the body.

Assault is my bread and butter with that level 10 gun with a 60 rd mag. I also enjoy trying to destroy vehicles and being a little more aggressive.

Medic is the #2 option with support a distant 3rd.

Same here. I like sniping and hitting shots is rewarding but missing them of getting hit markers can also be frustrating. My skill/score per min went down a lot when I was a scout lol. But hey, you gotta try all classes to gauge their strengths and weakness right? I'm best at close to med range with my sweeper and high iq on the battlefield lol.

I like playing assault class but I am terrible at tank killing so I am not very useful at it. I go right for the objective and do my bit but when a tank shows up I am useless against it. They just mow me down like nothing.

I find the scout class can be very useful to capturing objectives *IF* used correctly. If sniping is the only thing you're doing, the benefits to your team are minimal... it is far more important that you are spotting guys for your teammates to see as they're moving forward. When I use scout, I probably get twice as many spot assists as I do kills.

What you can do is try to see where tanks typically go on their routes and then when you're at an objective or near it start putting down the anti-tank mines.

One of the most satisfying moments, for me, is when you watch a tank head right towards your mines and get BTFU.

I blow up 2-3 tanks per conquest match easily, just by placing anti tank mines near flags and roads usually taken.
My favorite place is the B flag at Empire's Edge. Just put mines behind the wall looking to the C flag. All tanks just rush through the wall to the B flag and never see the mines behind it. Easy 3-4 kills every single time. Also, on that map the road between C and D is just too easy for destroying tanks. Chateau is a good map for that, everyone just rushes in their tank to the palace and gets blown up at the entrance.

Thanks guys, good advice for tank killing. I usually try the anti-tank grenades and get chewed up by the guns.

Yea you need to have good cover for those...then run.

Tanks are something you can't really just rush and expect to take out unless you have 2-3 assault guys at once.

Agreed. Proper sniping i.e. Sitting back, is not useful to anyone unless you are very good at it and land majority of your shots, can hit moving targets, and prioritise enemies closer to your team.

9/10 that isn't the case and it just turns into a sniper fest of snipers just facing comparing who has the bigger... Well, you get the point.

I kind of prefer a marksman type role. Take a lower magnification scope and take out targets on the move, then move position, help advance on the objective, etc..

I've played a lot of ArmA and I've always preferred marksman rifles i.e. the M14, and getting stuck, rather than pulling up a deck chair and sitting back where the only people you can see are the people doing the same thing on the other side of the map.

                              It's really a combination of:

                              1) how you use the scout class, and
                              2) the sheer volume of scout class users on your team.

If your team already has 3-5 guys playing scout, you really don't need another one (especially if attacking).

Having a good spotter is especially helpful, I found, the other night, to planes in the air. I was rolling in the attack plane and had somebody on my team making use of the spot flare, as well as IDing several enemies from afar. Being able to see where the bad guys were made piloting an attack plane hugely beneficial to the team and I was taking out 1-3 guys with every pass. If they weren't spotted I'd be lucky to average 0.5 kills per pass.

Regarding the tanks, I've been using the Support class a lot lately, and I usually have a scout on my team spot the tank for me, and then I eventually sneak in until I'm close enough that I can quickly run by and throw one of those Limpet Charges on it. That usually either blows the tank up completely or at least disables it so that someone else can finish it off relatively easily and boy does it feel great when you do it successfully haha.
