This is exactly how that went for me.


I played so much today and still haven’t upgraded a single thing as far as satchel, dead eye etc goes. Haven’t even seen one of the animals I need for a satchel upgrade.

Total of 8 hours of gameplay. I’ve mostly hunted, ran around, got into a few bar fights, fought some gang members, played Poker, somehow assaulted someone and turned in a 30 minute gun battle in Valentine, then went about hunting some more and ended up falling off a cliff and dying. Haven’t even upgraded a single thing either. Next thing, is trying to figure out how to fish.

I was walking through the little town in Chapter 2 and was just blown away by the detail. My wife walked by in that moment and asked " I thought you were going to play your game." She thought it was a TV show.

Visually, this is a work of art.

ive had a few like not necessarily uncomfortable, but i guess weird feelings where its like for a second it looks real, like Ill be walking and not looking at my guy but in front of him and see mountains in the distance and my brain is like processing it like I am controlling a real person or in a real environment, its almost too life like if that makes sense.

Correct. While aiming.

Make sure your dead eye is charged. You might need to pound some booze or smoke a cigar.

Is there a setting for 4k resolution on xbox one x or is it automatic. I can see where I can change hdr setting but nothing regarding resolution. I just want to make sure 😁

Nope. You’re good to go. Just calibrate hdr.

I wish I could just hold A while on a horse and follow the road to my marker like in AC Origins. Other than that it feels just like red dead. I do agree with what somebody said about hitching your horse earlier. Sometimes that takes me like 3 tries.

Every time you turn a corner in this game it feels like a sight to behold. It's just stupid how stunning the experience is. I don't have to tell any of you here playing it at this point. I think the most jarring thing to me is how much of a leap this game feels like. More like GTA 3 to other open world games at the time than GTA 4 to 5.

On Xbox One X I honestly feel like the games colors look better with HDR off. Almost like there's something wrong with HDR in this game. Anyone else tried toggling it on and off and see the difference ?

For the people playing in hdr what calibration value did you set for max luminance? It says to go with 100 for LCD and 300 for Oled, but i find 100 too dim for hdr. I set it to about about 400 then started working my way down. I was trying to get a good mix of details and brightness.

I'll have to check it out again when i get off work.

I have LG OLED, I set mine to 400, seems pretty good to me since I prefer a brighter pic.
