Though this remaster phase is getting overdone, I don't mind it because there's certain games that I'm surprised never got a remastered version. For example, I'm surprised that RDR2 never received a native current gen version.

But, I do put this in the Uncharted 4/Lost Legacy category, where the game still holds up very well. I wouldn't say it needs a remaster and does feel somewhat "money grabbish". This feels like they could have done a "next gen patch"

Or we'll see the Re-Remaster for TLOU 1+2 bundle for the PS6 lol. At the very least, I think there will be a little pause in the TLOU series. I think they'll do a new IP, then go for the TLOU 3 at end of generation, then a TLOU 3 remake at the start of the PS6 gen lol

I guess if you are interested in the Remaster and never bought it before, you can get the game on PS direct now for $19.99 , then just have to do pay $10 for the upgrade

I'm not a big fan of TLOU 2 but I'll pay the $10.00 to play through it again just to see the updated visuals. The Remaster is out on January 19th 2024.

Can't wait for Part 2 on the PC, whenever it does come out, as the upgrade from PS5 to PC on Part 1 is insane and I never finished 2 either so it'll be even better.

Was it really so hard to just have put in a 4v4 or 5v5 PvP mode to give the game some more longevity? I don't think anyone was asking for a grand looter shooter like Destiny or a battle royale. Hard to get hyped for the PS5 remaster with the roguelike mode when they canceled Factions for being overly ambitious

Gonna go buy a used copy of TLOU Part II and beat part one very soon. I've already seen the HBO show (season 1 was great) and watched my brother beat it (Part 1) multiple times, but gotta experience the entire game for myself. Many, many years late, obviously. [emoji38]

Part One is pretty damn good.

I think the story carries the water for the (at times, IMO) clunky stealth mechanics. Thankfully, you don't have to play the game as a stealthy ninja and can blast away (but ammo can get scarce).

Just started Part 2 and the gunplay feels just as visceral and intense as the first game.

The game was great. The story and ending made a ton of sense if you think about the themes of the two games.


Now I gotta find something lighthearted and fun to balance out one of the most bleak, nihilistic stories since probably the Manhunt games. Although, I would argue that TLOU by the end pushes back against all the bleakness.
