!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally beat Onryoki!!!!!
Studied the weapons and though my Black Steel Axe had a higher attack multiplier, my Squire's Jumonji Spear had twice as much parrying characteristic. Went in with my spear for the second time, got him about halfway down on his life and activated my guardian spirit. He never touched me again.
I feel like a Bawse! Lol

Nioh
Had a boss fight to end all boss fights last night. I was on the level thatSpoilerhas the boss from the trailer that is part spider.
So it was up to me and this thing had full health and I was already panicking and ready to get beaten like a rug. I started to just sort of play out the string to see how I could do, since any damage I was doing was very minimal and things looked hopeless.
I used the guardian spirit spell all 3 times and did some damage to the point where I had it down to about 3/4 health. I still had all 8 elixirs so I started thinking maybe I should take this seriously. I used both of my sloth spells (which, despite what you may have heard, are NOT automatic boss kills, in fact far from it) and on the second I used my spirit weapon and got her down to about half health. I probably had about 5 elixirs left.
Now I am trying everything, using fire talismans, resistance spells to quell the poison, rejuvenation potions for health, you name it. I got her down to about to about 1/8 of her health left and I am out of elixers but with full health. I am standing up and going nuts, trying not to let this thing get me cornered. She gets me down to about half health and I am trying not to run out of ki because I am dodging about 25 times for every attack I can squeeze in. Finally, with about 1/4 of my health left I took her out. I was sure I was going to choke it away at the last minute, as I have done many times prior in the Souls games. The entire fight took about 20 minutes and I was on my feet for the last 10 or so. When it was over I wanted to scream.
This is why I play games.NCAA: Michigan Wolverines

Re: Nioh
I need to stay out of this section of the forums because it's led to my last three game purchases with this one being the most recent as of this morning. I hate you guys.

Re: Nioh
All I read about the game is it's like Bloodborne (which I hated) and it's difficult (and I'm bad at games) so it's sort of surprising I ended up with it.
Honestly I kind of know why I bought it. I just bought a PS4 Pro about 6 weeks ago and I had read this game was sort of one of the first games to really take advantage of it.
That combined with the Visa Spend $100 and get $25 off right when I was preordering Mass Effect and needed another game to go with it.
But wow, I'm so glad I did, already got about 35 hours or so into it and, more importantly, for me anyways, I'm over the "hump" of it being something I'm drawn to play.
Anyways, it's a great impulse purchase. Makes me wonder what other games I haven't bought that I could be in utter love with had I bought it considering my experience with this one..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Nioh
That's exactly what it was for me too. I like Bloodborne a good bit but was getting burned out fighting the same first boss over and over and was taking a break when I bought Nioh. Might be hard to go back...

Re: Nioh
Yeah I hear you, plus along with what you said I just thought it looked like something different. I don't have any Japanese themed games and this one really has a nice visual aesthetic to it that is unlike anything else I've played in the last 20 years.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20
