Haven't played Shadow of War but I played the first and outside of combat I didn't like it much. Weak story, bland world and the graphics weren't pretty. It just looks cheaply made to me.

I would play one for now, either one. You can get burnt out on it. Both games are similar and a lot of fun. I beat the first game twice.

First I was ambushed by a Pain Seeker, now a Pain Lover. Some serious SM fetishes going on in Mordor, lol.

i bought shadow of molder and played about 60% of the way through it before giving up one day. Not because it was bad, just got busy and forgot about it. I had no idea this one was being released but i saw it recently and figured what the heck. It is mostly more of the same with everything being done a little bit better, thats no problem for me though. I loved playing the first one and enjoy this one even more, hopefully i'll beat this one.

So whats the verdict on parrying "captains" attacks? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it and I reallllly dislike finding out that it isn't going to work at the wrong times!!!

I found that I haven’t been playing this that much. Maybe burned myself out after beating the first one twice. I am building my army but haven’t raided a fortress or raided a dragon. As a result it feels very similar to the first game so far which is both a good and bad thing.

I haven't played in a couple weeks, but that's because I haven't had a chance. Between one week that I never played anything due to work, then playing through the two South Park games, the new Assassin's Creed over the past week and now Call of Duty since Friday afternoon, I haven't had a chance to get back to this game, trying to juggle too much right now, lol.

This game looks great on the One X but it's a mess.

The controls are very wonky when trying to climb and jump down

Too much button mashing with not much variation of sword strikes.

The layout of the world is terrible and it makes being stealthy harder than it should be.

The Orcs have weird delayed reactions.

Feels like I'm just running around doing useless quests.

The first game was much better in those regards. I will be trading this in asap.

The controls can be a wonky when trying to climb vs jump. I don’t remember having that issue in the first game. And it is annoying not being able to jog. They should use the analog sticks better. Walking at a crawl vs crazy running is a bit annoying.

Haven’t been playing much at all. Kind of burnt out on it. I feel the game is too similar to the first game and yet some changes that I thought I would like haven’t turned out as well. Maps are much bigger but now they feel like they are stuffed with busy work. Running and climbing controls aren’t very good. combat moves are pretty much identical so far with small changes. Story missions aren’t displayed well on the map and it feels like they are a minor part of the game. I guess I shouldn’t have beaten the first game twice. Now this doesn’t feel fresh and I am apathetic to it. I haven’t gotten to the fortress battles and am not sure I will.

I'll be quite honest, I am frickin' lost most of the time. The first game I had all down(gem collection, weapon upgrading, nemesis management, etc), this game I am still wondering what the heck I need to do. Most of the good things I've done is by accident I feel. I can't beat a captain to save my life (though the ones I have beat is thanks to the one dude that keeps saving my arse), and I have no idea if my actions are busy work, or working on the story. I question my intelligence level with the game. As much as I enjoyed the first game, I guess I was glad I was done with the first game, so not sure why I even why I wanted to tackle this one. Maybe I just need a break.
