Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
from what I've read, I think it's geared toward the end game, whatever the last level or battle is, is such a grind that they're hoping players will say screw it and get the crates. Something to do with legendary orcs?Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

I have paid enough attention that I have made an informed decision to pass on this game, among others, as I feel it is not something I want to waste my money on. Glad its different for you and I hope you enjoy it.In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
So the story mode will be the immediate events following Return of the Jedi? Sounds like the game length is 5-7 HOURS long with a possible 8, which is fine by me. However, this is a Christmas gift request and this family never gives in to early exchangesComment

From my understanding its the bridge between ROTJ and Force Awakens

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
They didn't go far enough. I want to know more about how powerful the top tier star cards are. If it's like the beta where the top ones are still game changing then it's still P2W. Buy the deluxe edition to get instant access to really good cards and buy a bunch of loot crates to get the material needed to craft those really good cards.
The only good thing about that announcement to me is that it looks like progression if finally tied to the class you play instead of pure randomness.Comment

"You'll need to reach a certain rank to craft upgraded Star Cards. You won't be able to buy a bunch of Crates, grind everything up into crafting materials, and immediately use them to get super powerful Star Cards. You can only upgrade the ability to craft higher tier Star Cards by ranking up through playing the game."Playstation Network:That70s_Gamer

Being able to sink hours into a competitive game and the associated skill that goes along with it should be advantage enough. In this system not only do you have to grind out levels, but then you will still be at a disadvantage to other people who have put the same time in as you who decide to pay some money into the system.
The only way the above system is remotely acceptable is if either the power of the star cards is drastically tuned down, or there grind is so low that even a casual player will have no problem unlocking all the cards/crafting material he needs. I have my doubts that they will do either of those, but I'll wait and see.Last edited by KSUowls; 11-01-2017, 08:57 AM.Comment

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Right. So preferential treatment is to people who have both the time to level up and willingness to dip into their wallet. This is just a dressed up p2w model that doesn't even attempt to misdirect you that if you shell out an extra $20 up front you get to start out with an advantage over everyone (reminds me of the original Battlefront where anyone who paid extra for the premium edition got instant access to the top tier hand canon that was beyond OP until it was eventually nerfed).
