I believe they want you to peel that sticker at the store and hand it to the cashier to buy a code sepearately. At least that's how I've interpreted that tactic before. NBA 2k18 had a similar sticker IIRC for VC.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Well, the credits and unlocking heros don't seem to be too bad. Off and on (taking breaks here and there) after 5pm, I played 7 campaign missions and then around 10pm I joined up with two friends and played matches of Blast and Strike.
By the time we all called it a night at 1am, between getting credits from SP missions, completing a couple dozen challenges in MP and post match rewards, I had over 19,000 credits and have already unlocked Darth Vader in less than 7 hours of play time (there was probably a solid hour to hour and a half I had the campaign paused due to making and eating dinner).
I don't think people will have any problems unlocking their favorite heroes after EA dropped the unlock costs by 75% the other day. Less than 7 hours of gameplay, I already have Darth Vader unlocked and just need 10,500 more credits to unlock Luke, which if I don't get tomorrow night, I'll have it for sure by Friday.
And all without spending a single cent on micro-transactions or loot boxes, other than the loot boxes I earned as challenge and SP mission rewards.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
1 question i have is i see people mentioned you can unlock Darth Vader & Luke..
So if i were to unlock them can i always use them as long as i want??
As the 1 thing i hated with Star Wars BF1 was how random it was in an online game & i never got to play as Darth Vader during the times i played & it made me angry as he has been one of my favorite star wars villains since i started watching star wars...
So is this just a skin or an unlock where i can say use Lord Vader as my guy or is it random again or no?? Wouldn't be worth unlocking if you cant always use him.. whats the point i would unlock him to use!!!

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Based on what I've seen you got about 32k credits early on just from completing a series of early achievements. This was before the 75% hero cost reduction, but my understanding is that the achievement bonuses scaled accordingly. So, sounds like you come into a bunch of money early on, but once it's dried up you're forced to grind out ~250-300 credits per online match.Comment

Yeah, that was one of the reasons for the micro-transactions, they are making all DLC for this game entirely free to avoid fracturing the community like they did with the paid DLC in the first game.
Everyone gets the DLC and the community stays together as a whole instead of splintering into smaller and smaller groups as more DLC is released.

You can speak to this better than me, but how many credits did Iden cost and how many of the credits you used did you get from the early achievements that are available?

Thry have it set up so beating the campaign will essentially give you Iden Versio for free if you choose to use those credits to unlock her.
And from the looks of it, the challenges still give you roughly 32,000 just by eyeballing how many there are, giving you usually in the ballpark of 250 credits for completing the challenge.
Yeah, once you have completed every challenge in the game, it may start to slow down to more of a grind, but right now, people should have no problem getting most, if not all of the heros. I've already got Vader unlocked, should soon have Luke unlocked and will unlock Iden Versio with my campaign credits, that should then just leave me needing 30,000 credits to unlock Leia, Chewie and Emperor Palpatine and that will be all of the locked heroes.
Ultimately, credits are only useful for loot boxes. It won't take long to unlock every hero. After that, loot boxes are the only thing you can use credits on from that point on. The most important thing is crafting parts. With crafting parts, you can unlock and upgrade any star card in the game. All locked star cards cost 40 crafting parts to unlock, 80 crafting parts up upgrade the card from level 1 (silver) to level 2 (green) and 120 parts to upgrade from level 2 to level 3 (blue). If the numbers scale accordingly, it should then cost 160 crafting parts to upgrade from level 3 to a maxed out level 4 (purple) card.
That is then where loot boxes come into play. Buy a loot box with credits will give you star cards, crafting parts and 1 other item (includes Trooper, Starfighter, Hero, Special or Vehicle star cards, victory poses, emote and weapons).
The three loot boxes are:
Trooper Crate (contains 1 or 2 Trooper star cards, crafting parts and 1 other item) for 4,000 credits.
Starfighter Crate (contains 1 or 2 Starfighter star cards, crafting parts and 1 other item) for 2,400 credits.
And Hero Crate (contains 1 or 2 Hero star cards, crafting parts and 1 other item) for 2,200 points.
If you're after crafting parts, the Hero Crate is great since it's only 2,200 credits, which would only take maybe an hour or two to build up depending on which game modes you play.
Ultimately, you can still very easily unlock heroes, buy star and upgrade star cards with crafting parts and be on the same level or near same level as those spending money, while not spending a cent yourself. So far from my experience, there is nowhere near as much of a grind as the internet was making it out to be over the past couple days.
There are some grinding spots here and there, but you also have complete control over unlocking and upgrading each and every single star card in the game using crafting parts and not having to rely on loot crates and luck of the draws solely for your Star cards.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
That is a good question. She cost 5K. I do think I got a decent amount of credits form the early achievements but I don't know the exact amount. Some of the early achievements do you give you a decent amount of credits so it is possible that after they dry up it will become harder to unlock characters. The other thing though is that only some of them are locked. For example, Darth Maul and Yoda are unlocked off the bat it is just certain characters are locked. I know it is not a great answer I will see if I can pay closer attention to the credits I earn. I can tell you that going through the campaign and getting through each chapter gets you 500 credits per chapter.
Boba Fett, Bossk, Han Solo, Kylo Ren, Lando, Darth Maul, Yoda and Rey are all already automatically unlocked from the very beginning.
Same thing with hero vehicles. The Tie Silencer, Slave I, Millennium Falcon, Scimitar, Tie Advanced X1, the T-658 X-Wing, the T-70 X-Wing and the Actis-class Light Interceptor are all unlocked right from the start.
Out of 14 heroes in the game at launch, only 6 are locked (Iden Versio for 5,000 credits, Leia, Chewie and Emperor Palpatine for 10,000 credits and Vader and Luke for 15,000 credits) and all 9 hero vehicles are unlocked.
