Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Yeah I'm going to wait until a price drop on this. Too many other games to play right now.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Now, whether any new campaign missions get added in future seasons/DLC releases in 2018, I have no clue, EA hasn't released any DLC road maps beyond December.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Would you (or anyone who has played) mind providing some personal experiences? I'm sure you can't give exacts, but just some rough estimates?
-Total time played
-Total credits earned (both from normal grind and achievements, maybe even broken out for credits gained from crates if possible).
-Loot crates opened
-Star cards received
-Any other economy items I may have missed.
-Maybe also an example of the type of cards you currently have equipped as well.
Total Credits Earned - I played 2 matches of Galactic Assualt and 2 matches of Heros vs. Villians. In the GA games I got 380 and 280 credits in the 2 matches. In the HV matches I got 290 and 150 credits. I also got 500 and 250 credits for Milestones.
I did not open and Crates or recieve any star cards.
I did not pay attention to how many credits I started with but there is one thing I don't understand. I checked my credits before my last Heros vs. Villians match and I had 9.395 credits. I earned 150 credits in my last match but when I went back out and check my credits I had 12,335 I don't know where the extra credits came from as I did not do any achievemnets or anything else.
Maybe somebody else can answer that question.Comment

We don't even know how much free DLC they will be adding. They have yet to quantify anything.Comment

Can you play with vehicles in any of the offline modes? Or are all the arcade modes limited to "boots on the ground" gameplay?Unofficial OS Ambassador of "CPU vs. CPU"
Now Playing:
XB1 (Forza Motorsport 6 and Horizon 2)
Switch (Mario Kart and Zelda)
PS3 (old 2k games and the Show)Comment

You can play with vehicles in default arcade mode. It plays like online would. You have to assign how many troops/lives, etc...Comment

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
They didn't have to replace lost potential lost revenue. Most games don't suddenly become profitable through those microtransactions, they just make them more profitable. And while I don't like microtransactions in general, it's an expanding industry practice here in 2017 that there isn't any getting around. The problem though occurrs when those microtransactions are taken too far to the point that it affects gameplay(something many games with a lootbox like system manage to avoid).
When a game takes that practice too far though there needs to be a line drawn to show that it isn't acceptable. No one should apologize for the complaining that occurred in this debacle, nor should they apologize for not giving EA money until they prove that they actually have fixed the issues that the community has with it.
This particular instance has received so much attention probably for a few reasons. The Star Wars IP is one of the biggest in the world. It has a built in fan base of many millions of people. Quality SW games are few and far between. In fact the last real SW game to be released was Battlefront I which was 2 years ago, and that game also had a major backlash because it was a full price product that felt like a fraction of a game (oh and then they charged for DLC on top of that). This game was supposed to be redemption. When EA really started talking about it they talked about how they really listened to feedback from the first game and would not charge future DLC. Most speculated there would be a cash shop of some kind, but I know I was thinking it would be more similar to Overwatch where the loot crates get you various cosmetic items. That wasn't the case though. It turned out to be one of the most heavy handed cash shops in all Western video games. Which is why I'm not surprised that the justified outrage was so loud.Comment

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Removes Microtransactions, But No Word From EA Yet
It looks like big changes may be in the works for Star Wars: Battlefront II's microtransaction system. It was discovered today that you can no longer purchase the game's virtual currency, Crystals, with real money.
Accessing the Crystals purchase page on Xbox One today yields the screen below. It does not give you the option to buy Crystals. However, you can still purchase them through the Xbox.com store, at least for the time being. We're working to confirm the situation on PlayStation 4 and PC. Keep checking back for more.

CNN and other news sites have picked up the story.
Star Wars owner Disney (DIS) did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Hopefully, publishers will begin to understand where the boundaries begin because you know they're all watching this situation with a bag of popcornComment

Re: Star Wars Battlefront 2 (PS4, Xbox One & PC)
Alright, so micro-transactions aren't completely dead in the game, they're just being turned off for now and will be reactivated sometime in the future.
EA is probably hoping for this to eventually die down and blow over and some time after the new year bring back micro-transactions.
