During the AMA cosmetics were actually brought up, and it was implied that DICE was allowed a good bit of leeway for cosmetic customization.

However, I do agree that the response was worded craftily.

I like how the shortened the campaign and cut it in half and releasing the other half in Dec calling it free DLC. Well played EA...

I know I'm done. I vote with my wallet and others should too. Between this and Madden, etc. What good reason should people give EA they're hard earned money? I can't think of any from my point of view. I mean, EA doesn't get the worst company in America for no reason.

Yea I don't think they are that dumb. These aren't good ideas. But EA has to make that extra $$$ somehow.

Well not so good news

SEC filing be EA reporting to their shareholders that they do not expect last night's announcement to materially affect EA's 2018 fiscal year.

This could be taken in two ways.

1 - Materiality is relative, and they expect whatever new system they implement to still come close to what they previously had (cosmetic shops have proven to be very profitable).

2 - They are lying to us and it will be a very minor financial hit once they flip the switch back on in a few weeks.

I hope the majority of gamers did not purchase this money pit. The greed spewing from this game is heartbreaking. I've been gaming since the NES days and wasn't thrilled with the inventions of micro-transactions, but as long as they didn't affect the balance of the game i wasn't going to complain. This takes that to another level. This pay to win model in a full priced game has no place in todays world of gaming. If this game succeeds, many more will follow and the gaming landscape will change drastically(not for the better either).

Please Please Please understand that all they did was delay the Pay to Win model. It will be brought back after Christmas/New Year.

Only EA could screw up a Star Wars game. A name that literally prints money and they are just so greedy they couldnt help themselves

I'm still on the fence on this one, but leaning towards abstaining from buying. This is just one of a long line of ethically questionable decisions by EA. They have made a lot of moves that just seem anti-consumer and I just don't want to give them my money anymore.

I don't doubt the developers themselves, because I'm sure dealing with the constraints imposed on them by a huge corporation isn't an easy task.

I'd just rather give my money to a company that cares about their product and consumers than a company with the biggest pocketbook and brand-name licensing.

Same. I decided I was picking it up after the reduction in price of the heroes. My son and I have been looking forward to this for so long. His face lit up this morning when he tried the arcade challenges with Darth Maul.

Thankfully I had the day off so I hit up the MP all morning with my buddy and it's an absolute blast. The game is Star Wars through and through. Along with that, it's absolutely stunning in 4k on the Pro.

I think when they do switch the crates back on to purchase they will be cosmetic only. At least that's what I'm hoping for!
